How to get it

Sold by Warden Krizzik, the Warlands vendor among the Time Rift vendors at the Tyrhold Reservoir in Thaldraszus, for 3,000 Paracausal Flakes, but only to a Horde character: an Alliance character is shown the Ravenous Black Gryphon in its place. Once a Horde character has learned it, the Alliance characters of the account can ride it too. The flakes come from Time Rifts, the event that starts there at the top of every hour; the same mount can also drop from the boss at the end of a rift, for either faction.

Time there about 2 min a visit

Guide Wowhead: Time Rifts Event Overview and Rewards

Before you go

  • 3,000 Paracausal Flakes: 1,000 from the weekly quest When Time Needs Mending (complete one Time Rift), and from each rift 30 for every task, 150 for the boss and the three reward boxes (20, 40 and 80). A rift starts every hour: ten minutes of tasks, then the portal and the boss · about 2 h over 1 days

In all: about 2 h of play, spread over 1 days, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Warden Krizzik, Tyrhold Reservoir
Thaldraszus · 51, 56.6
/way Thaldraszus 51 56.6
From Orgrimmar about 1.2 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Valdrakken*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

The place differs by faction and has not been looked up for the Alliance.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The journal's lines read as two routes: for the Horde the drop and the vendor, for the Alliance the item Gift of the White War Wolf. The item sold is the Horn of the White War Wolf, which binds to the Warband. Wowhead's sold-by list has Warden Krizzik (NPC 208346, friendly to both factions) at 3,000 of currency 2594, Paracausal Flakes; Wowhead's guide says she sells different wares to each faction and lists the horn under 'Warlands Items for Horde Characters', and the wiki calls it Horde only. No Alliance place is given because an Alliance character cannot buy it.

What an Alliance character can do, by the comments on Wowhead:

  • have a Horde character of the same account buy it, after which it is usable on both sides (2023, two reports; a 2023 reply notes the mount carries no faction icon in the list)
  • get it as a drop from a rift boss, where it is added to the collection straight away (2023, several; one of 2024 names the Fury of N'Zoth boss)
  • be given it by a Horde player holding the Gift, a Warlands rift drop for Horde characters that teaches the mount to a targeted player of the opposite faction (wiki; item 207057, binds when picked up, stacks to 20)

The drop's chance was never published. The Encapsulated Destiny from the weekly quest guarantees some extra reward from the next rift; one player got the wolf that way on the first day (2023), while a comment on the guide from the same month says such a guaranteed reward gave nothing to a character that had every Alliance mount and lacked only the wolf.

In 2023 flakes were carried to a Horde character as Paracausal Crates, six for the 3,000, bought from an NPC the comment links only by number (208548) and mailed; whether that still works was not checked.

Sources disagree on the level needed: players bought it on Horde characters of level 48 and 56 in 2023, while a 2024 comment on the guide says the vendors and the event show only at level 70, and a 2024 reply found no vendors on a fresh Class Trial character. A 2026 comment points to a forum thread on Dragonflight content staying locked on some accounts.

A rift counts only for a player who has hit its boss, and the boss now dies within moments (comments of 2025 to 2026). Soridormi stands at 51.1, 57.1 (2024 comment). That a rift starts at the top of every hour is taken from this guide's other Time Rift mounts. No source says outright that the vendors stand there between rifts. The coordinates are Wowhead's tooltip for Warden Krizzik, the same spot as the other rift vendors. Wowhead's guide was last updated in 2023.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
