How to get it

A rare find in the Dreamseed Cache of an Emerald Bounty in the Emerald Dream. A dreamseed planted in one of the soil plots grows for three minutes while players feed it Emerald Dewdrops; the cache that then appears gives everyone who planted or fed a Small, Medium or Large Emerald Bloom, by how far the bloom was nurtured, and any of the three can hold the reins. Planting a seed of one's own is not needed: feeding dewdrops into someone else's bloom earns the cache too. It is not sold for Seedblooms like the other dreamsabers.

Chance 0.5% per try, so about 200 tries on average — Wowhead: 3,210 reins in 645,434 recorded loots, added up over the 51 Dreamseed Cache objects it lists for the item (single objects run from 0.20% to 1.49%). The count is per looting player and does not tell a small, half-grown bloom from a full one; Wowhead's guide says the chance rises from 'minimal' (Small Emerald Bloom, nurtured 1-49) through 'very small' (Medium, 50-99) to 'small' (Large, 100) and gives no figures

Before you go

  • Something to put into each bloom: a dreamseed to plant, or Emerald Dewdrops to feed one that is growing (5 a nurturing, 500 for a full bloom). Dewdrops come from the Superbloom at Sprucecrown and from Emerald Frenzies (up to 100 a Frenzy, twice an hour at half past and ten to), dreamseeds from the same events, the Superbloom's weekly quest and Dream Wardens renown · about 0.5 h

In all: about 0.5 h of play, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The journal's 'Drop: Dreamseed Cache' is right but short. Neither Wowhead nor the wiki has a vendor for the item: the six mounts Talisa Whisperbloom sells for a Seedbloom (see the Evening Sun Dreamsaber) do not include this one, so luck is the only way. About 200 caches are expected at 0.5%.

The place given is the Whisperbloom Sapling plot at the wiki's 51.1, 58.6, the one nearest the Central Encampment, but any plot will do (the wiki has Ysera's Clover at 59.2, 58.7). Only one seed grows in a plot at a time, and each player may add one seed of the kind first planted (wiki). Wowhead's guide names 17 plots, all shown on the map in the zone: Belligerent Begonias, Chiming Foxglove, Comfy Chamomille, Dragon's Daffodil, Dreamer's Daisy, Flourishing Scurfpea, Fuzzy Licorice, Glade Goldenrod, Lavatouched Lillies, Lofty Lupin, Lullaby Lavender, Moon Tulip, Ringing Rose, Singing Weedling, Viridescent Sprout, Whisperbloom Sapling and Ysera's Clover.

The pooled figure may flatter. Many of the first comments (2023, the patch's first days) report the mount from the first cache or two, while later ones run long:

  • over 300 fully grown Gigantic seeds without it (2024, the best-rated of that year)
  • over 200 without it (2025)
  • finds after 129, 139, about 300 and 340 tries (2024)
  • a find after 300-400 Small seeds fed once (2025)

Seed size and nurture do not gate it: comments have it from a Small seed, from a bloom fed a single nurturing (2023, 2024) and from Plump seeds (2024, 2025); the wiki says only that the better blooms have the better chance. There is no daily limit: one player got it on the 24th cache of a day (2023), and a player working through a stock of seeds reports 30-40 full blooms an hour (2024). A cache left unlooted stays until it is looted (wiki), and a 2024 commenter had the reins arrive by mail from one. It can drop again after it is learned (2023).

Not established: whether the short quest line that introduces the bounties (Wowhead's guide: it begins with a quest picked up early in the Emerald Dream story and opens the weekly Blooming Dreamseeds) has to be done before a character can plant or feed, and whether a minimum level applies; the wiki's item page asks for level 45 to learn the mount, while Wowhead's tooltip shows no minimum. A search summary of Primagames' guide to this mount says the same as the above.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
