How to get it

Reward of the quest A Little Hope is Never Without Worth, the last of five in the storyline A Mix of Hope, Care, and Patience in the Emerald Dream. It starts at a Smoldering Sprout south of the Central Encampment: put out its flames and clean it, then tend the plant with Professor Ash's help. Each quest is a few minutes' work; between them the plant has to grow for about five days, some three and a half weeks in all.

Time there about 5 min a visit

Before you go

  • The five quests, with the plant's growth between them: Some Water... (Professor Ash's bucket, filled at 51.1, 65.7); A Dash of Minerals... (5 Fish Bones from Fathomless Lurkers in the Eye of Ysera, about 51, 31); The Right Food... (5 Tel'Abim Bananas from the innkeeper Saelienne, 3 Turtle Eggshell Shards from the turtles of Summerjoy Shoal, 5 Lasher Plant Matter, then three days of composting before the fertilizer is spread); And a Pinch of Magic (the Druidic Totem set down among the Roottenders of the Singing Fen, 63, 53); A Little Hope is Never Without Worth (speak to Professor Ash beside the plant) · about 1 h over 3 weeks

In all: about 1 h of play, spread over 3 weeks, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources

Asks for level 10 (Wowhead). Professor Ash is in two places: the herbalism trainer at the Central Encampment (49.6, 62.8), who advises and lends the bucket, and a second Ash beside the plant, to whom the later quests are handed in (2023 comment). The Smoldering Sprout shows no quest marker and cannot be used from the saddle (2024 Wowhead comment).

How long: Wowhead's patch 10.2 mount guide ('Takes 23 days of dailies', updated 2023), Method's guide (2024: the growth bar fills 20% a day) and players' comments agree on 23 days; the wiki's quest pages say each next quest comes after six daily resets and count at least 27.

In December 2023 some players could not hand in the last quest because Ash and the plant were not there; a hotfix of 18 January 2024 put that right (wiki). Not established: whether the chain and its waiting are per character. The latest comments are from 2024 to 2025 and still describe the chain as above; nothing written since Midnight was found.

Method's guide stands first because it walks through every step; Wowhead's own guide gives this mount two lines (the start point and the 23 days). The Talont mount, bought with a Dream Infusion, asks for a dreamtalon such as this one in the collection (Wowhead's guide).

Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
