Made by an engineer with Outland Engineering at 75, its maximum. The recipe is taught at 75 for 3 silver 50 copper, but only by the engineering trainers in Outland: Lebowski in Honor Hold or Zebig in Thrallmar are the nearest. Materials: 4 Adamantite Frames, 8 Khorium Power Cores, 8 Felsteel Stabilizers and 1 Hula Girl Doll, which comes to 16 Adamantite Bars, 4 Primal Earth, 8 Khorium Bars, 8 Primal Fire, 16 Felsteel Bars and the doll, sold by Griftah in the Lower City of Shattrath. Learning the mount asks for Outland Engineering 75 as well, and riding it for Engineering.

Before you go
- A character with Engineering as a profession and Outland Engineering raised to 75: by one levelling guide that takes some 300 to 450 Fel Iron Bars, 200 to 350 Adamantite Bars, 70 Netherweave Cloth, 35 to 45 Primal Earth and a few Khorium Bars and Primal Fire, made into bolts, casings, frames, flares, rifles and repair bots. - The recipe, 3 silver 50 copper from an Outland engineering trainer at Outland Engineering 75
- 16 Adamantite Bars and 4 Primal Earth (the four frames), 8 Khorium Bars and 8 Primal Fire (the eight power cores), and 16 Felsteel Bars (the eight stabilizers), which a miner smelts from 48 Fel Iron Bars and 32 Eternium Bars. A Primal is ten Motes · about 3 h
- 1 Hula Girl Doll from Griftah in the Lower City of Shattrath City (65.6, 68.6): 100 gold, less with standing in the Lower City · about 0.1 h

Getting there
/way Hellfire Peninsula 55.6 65.5 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Shattrath*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way Hellfire Peninsula 54.8 38.5 - Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Shattrath*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The same trainers teach the Flying Machine's recipe, at skill 1, and the places given are the same, so the two can be learned in one visit. The old Flying Machine has not been a part of this recipe since patch 3.0.2 (wiki), so the two are made separately.
Wowhead's taught-by list for this recipe (as read in 2026) has only Outland trainers:
- Alliance: Lebowski (Honor Hold) and K. Lee Smallfry (Telredor)
- Horde: Zebig (Thrallmar) and Mack Diver (Zabra'jin)
- either side: Xyrol in Area 52, and Engineer Sinbei and Technician Mihila in Shattrath (by WoW-Professions Sinbei serves the Scryers' side and Mihila the Aldor and draenei)
Wowhead's professions guide (last changed 2022) says the recipe can be bought from any engineering trainer; the taught-by list says otherwise, and this guide follows the list, as for the Flying Machine. The trainers' coordinates are those given for the Flying Machine, from Wowhead's tooltips.
The mount's tooltip reads 'Requires 75 Outland Engineering skill to ride', and the item asks for Outland Engineering (75) and Apprentice Riding, so the crafting character is also the one that learns it. A 2020 Wowhead comment says that, whatever the tooltip says, any engineer can ride it once it is in the collection; that was not confirmed.
The item carries no binding line in Wowhead's tooltip, so the finished machine can be handed or sold on; the route here is making it.
Part recipes by the wiki:
- Adamantite Frame: 4 Adamantite Bars and 1 Primal Earth (Outland Engineering 25)
- Khorium Power Core: 1 Khorium Bar and 1 Primal Fire (40)
- Felsteel Stabilizer: 2 Felsteel Bars (40)
The Khorium Power Core took 3 Khorium Bars in 2008 and takes 1 since 2011 at the latest (Wowhead comments). A Felsteel Bar is 3 Fel Iron Bars and 2 Eternium Bars (a 2013 Wowhead comment; not checked against the smelting recipe). The wiki lists an anvil among the tools. Griftah's tooltip also records two stray positions elsewhere in Shattrath; the Lower City one is used.
Not established: whether Outland Engineering can be taken up without any Classic Engineering skill, and how fast it rises today. WoW-Professions' guide carries no date, and a 2019 Wowhead comment confirms only that 75 is needed and that it takes many crafts. Whoever cannot mine has to find the bars another way, which is not counted here.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
