How to get it

Reward of Repurposed, Restored, the last of five quests from Speaker Jurlax in Gundargaz. The chain only opens with the Malfunctioning Mechsuit, a rare drop from Void Speaker Eirich, the last boss of The Stonevault, on Mythic difficulty (a keystone run counts too). Jurlax then asks, one after another, for three trinkets that drop from bosses of The Stonevault, Cinderbrew Meadery and Darkflame Cleft on any difficulty.

Chance 3.25% once a day, so about 31 tries on average — Wowhead: 78 Malfunctioning Mechsuits in 2,401 recorded Mythic loots of Void Speaker Eirich (3.25%). Its tooltip shows 0.30% because that pools every difficulty (78 in 25,686), and the item is not on the boss's Normal or Heroic table. The counts are as they stand on 2026-10-10 and probably date mostly from Season 1, when the dungeon was current

Before you go

  • After the drop, A Mech in Need: carry the Malfunctioning Mechsuit to Speaker Jurlax in Gundargaz, 47.0, 32.4 in The Ringing Deeps. He gives the next three quests and the last, Repurposed, Restored, which hands over the mount · about 0.25 h
  • Machine Without Cogs: an Overclocked Gear-a-Rang Launcher, a trinket from the Master Machinists encounter in The Stonevault on any difficulty, follower dungeons included. It only drops for Strength and Agility damage specializations · about 0.75 h
  • Orienting Ourselves: a Synergistic Brewterializer, a trinket from Goldie Baronbottom in Cinderbrew Meadery on any difficulty. It only drops for Intellect specializations · about 0.75 h
  • Clutching Control: a Burin of the Candle King, a trinket from The Candle King in Darkflame Cleft on any difficulty. It only drops for healing specializations · about 1.5 h

In all: about 3.3 h of play, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The journal names only the last quest; the gate is the drop, and the chance and lockout given are the drop's. It is still filed as a quest because a quest hands the mount over.

The Mechsuit drops on Mythic only. While The War Within ran, Mythic was open only for the season's dungeons, so the chain could be started in Season 1 alone (Wowhead comments of 2024 and 2025). Since the end of Season 3 The Stonevault is open on Mythic again (Icy Veins, 2026), and a 2026 Wowhead reply reports the drop in Midnight 'on mythic' with 'a daily lockout per character'. Other mounts in this guide have the wiki giving a weekly lockout for Mythic dungeons outside the season's rotation, so the daily lockout here rests on those two reports.

About 31 Mythic kills are expected at 3.25%; single reports run from the first kill to more than 250. The item may not show in the bags: the quest A Mech in Need (84020) starts by itself, and Jurlax offers it again if it is dropped (2025 comments).

The chain is shared by the warband: any character can loot a trinket and any can hand it in, which matters because no one specialization can loot all three (a druid, monk, paladin or shaman can by changing loot specialization); a trinket of any item level counts. Reports on the trinkets run from all three in 20 minutes of follower dungeons (2024) and 14 clears in a little over an hour (2025) to 30 runs of Darkflame Cleft without the Burin; commenters guess 3-5% each, and Wowhead's tooltips for the three carry no figure. A 2026 reply asking whether the trinkets still drop below Mythic in Midnight has no answer; Icy Veins in 2026 says any difficulty, Follower included.

The wiki names Speaker Dorlita as the Launcher's source, the guides the Master Machinists encounter she is part of. Entrances, from the game's own data: Cinderbrew Meadery at 80.8, 43.7 on the Isle of Dorn, and Darkflame Cleft at 52.7, 21.0 in The Ringing Deeps. The time on the spot is one Mythic clear and is an estimate.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
