Nesting Swarmite
Find a character at the top of the page to see whether your account has this mount, and where that character stands on what it asks for.
Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
Inside a Horrific Vision (Revisited), of Stormwind or of Orgrimmar, click the Trash piles, one in each of the vision's five areas: each click has a small chance to bring out the rare Nesting Swarmite, which always drops the mount. No Faceless Mask is needed. The visions are entered from Soridormi's camp south of the Coreway in Dornogal.
Chance The chance that a Trash pile brings out the Nesting Swarmite was never published; the guides say only 'small' or 'low'. The Rarity addon assumes 1 in 100 a pile. Players' own counts on Wowhead (2025-2026) run from the first pile to 6, 15, 21, 25, 28, 67 and 73 piles, and one of 115 runs. Once it appears the mount is certain: Wowhead has 282 mounts in 282 recorded loots of the Nesting Swarmite, the 100% its tooltip shows

Getting there
/way Dornogal 34.7 68.8 - Take the portal from Stormwind to Dornogal*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Dornogal
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Added with Horrific Visions Revisited in patch 11.1.5. The wiki calls the revisited visions permanently available and lists a Midnight hotfix to them of January 2026, and 2026 Wowhead comments report the mount dropping. Either city will do, so the week's vision does not matter.
Trash piles on the vision's own map, by Wowhead's guide and the wiki.
Stormwind (map 2404):
- Cathedral 55.8, 49.3 (by a broken wagon)
- Dwarven District 62.9, 30.7 (between the Auction House and the Bank)
- Old Town 73.6, 62.7
- Trade District 66.1, 76.3
- Mage Quarter 52.6, 77.3 (just inside the entrance)
Orgrimmar (map 2403):
- Valley of Strength 47.6, 74.5
- The Drag 57.4, 60.8 (inside Gotri's Traveling Gear, a smaller pile)
- Valley of Honor 69.0, 49.7
- Valley of Wisdom 50.8, 45.1
- Valley of Spirits 40.3, 79.4
Wowhead comments give the Orgrimmar ones a few steps off (47.75, 74.99; 40.74, 79.26; 57.49, 60.62).
Runs are not limited (wiki), and players farm it in short visits: to the Cathedral pile, or Cathedral and the Mage Quarter, then out again and back in, reported as ten tries in about fifteen minutes. A 2025 reply warns that after some two hours of that the game refused further entries for a while. The time on the spot is an estimate for one visit to the nearer piles; no source gives one.
Masks: every source says none is needed, and players disagree on whether wearing some helps (reports of drops with none and with one to eight). In a party everyone gets the mount from the one Nesting Swarmite (2025 comments). A 2025 comment had the rare appear twice in one run, lootable only once.
The camp coordinates are those used for the other Horrific Visions mounts (the Void-Scarred Windrider, the Black Serpent of N'Zoth); Method's guide gives 34.59, 69.07 for the hub. How the visions scale for a level 90 character was not established. Wowhead's guide (2025) and Method's (2025) date from The War Within.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
