Rare drop from Beledar's Spawn, a rare elite that appears in Hallowfall when the crystal Beledar turns dark: every three hours, starting one hour after the daily reset, for 30 minutes. It comes up at one of 20 points across the zone and leaves when the light returns. Each character can loot it once a day.

Before you go
- Being in Hallowfall when Beledar's Shadow begins: every three hours from one hour after the daily reset, lasting 30 minutes. The rare is usually dead within minutes of appearing, so the point has to be reached at once
Getting there
/way Hallowfall 50.5 48.6 - Take the portal from Stormwind to Dornogal*
- Exit to Ringing Deeps
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Dornogal
- Exit to Ringing Deeps
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
About 18 kills are expected at the rate given. The loot is once a day per character: Wowhead's top comment says so, 2024 comments confirm one loot a day for each character, and a script in a 2024 comment reads the day's flag (quest 81763). It has dropped for characters of level 70 to 77 (2024 comments), and it drops again for a character that already has the mount.
Where it is: the wiki says it appears when Beledar darkens every three hours. Without help the 20 points have to be flown; with Beledar's Attunement learned, the point in use shows on the zone map. The Attunement is sold by Auralia Steelstrike in Mereldar for 1,000 Resonance Crystals at Renown 23 with the Hallowfall Arathi (wiki); it is a help, not a requirement. Players gather through the group finder a few minutes before the hour so that every point is watched (2024 comments).
It appears once per shadow in a given copy of the zone (2024 comments). A 2024 comment notes the sky may not darken for a character that has not finished the zone's campaign, though the rare is there all the same.
The 20 points (Wowhead's top comment, as /way for map 2215; the pins in Wowhead's guide and the tooltip for the creature agree to within a few tenths):

The place given is the point nearest the middle of the zone, chosen for the route only; the rare is no likelier there than anywhere else.
Wowhead's guide (2024) gives it 57 million health and says its location shows on the map once the Attunement is learned; wow.gg says over 64 million; a 2025 comment says it dies almost at once since patch 11.2.5. The wiki lists the mount and the ring Signet of Dark Horizons as loot. Players' guesses at the chance in the first weeks ran from 3% to 10%; Wowhead's count is the figure used.
Added in patch 11.0.2 (wiki). The item binds when picked up (Wowhead's tooltip).
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
