Drops as Regurgitated Mole Reins from Lurker of the Deeps, a rare in the lake north-west of Opportunity Point in the Ringing Deeps. The rare is not up by itself: five Inconspicuous Levers along the rail tracks of the zone have to be pulled at the same moment, one player at each. A zone-wide message follows ('something begins to stir in the nearby lake') and the rare rises about a minute later. Each character can loot it once a day.
Chance 5.98% once a day, so about 17 tries on average — Wowhead (read 2026-10-11): 131 mounts in 2,190 recorded loots of Lurker of the Deeps (NPC 220285); 131 / 2,190 = 5.98%, the figure its tooltip shows. The count is per looting player. Players who farmed it in 2024 put it lower, near 2% (see notes)

- Five players, one at each Inconspicuous Lever, pulling at the same moment: levers at 45.2, 8.8; 49.7, 25.2; 53.4, 23.5; 58.6, 44.6 and 54.9, 92.3. Whoever is in the zone can then fly to the lake in the minute before the rare rises · about 0.2 h
In all: about 0.2 h of play, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
How many players: the wiki and Wowhead's guide say five levers at the same time, and a 2025 Wowhead comment says within one second of each other. A 2025 comment says four will do if one is a druid, who pulls one of the two levers that lie closest together (49.7, 25.2 and 53.4, 23.5) and flies to the other; that does not sit with a one-second window, was reported once, and is not what is counted on here. A 2026 comment describes one person doing it with five game clients at once (the levers ask for no level), which is still five characters. Nobody reports the levers staying pulled long enough for one character to do all five.
Lockout: once a day for each character (comments of 2024 and 2025; the hidden quest is 81633), so further characters give further tries the same day, and a character that already has the mount can loot the item again (2024).
The drop chance is uncertain. Wowhead's count gives 5.98%, while the most detailed account (2024, a player who got it on the 111th kill, with two others in the raid at 200 and 240 kills without it) holds to about 2% and saw two or three mounts a kill in full raids; a 2025 comment suspected it had been lowered since. At 5.98% about 17 daily kills are expected, at 2% about 50.
Coordinates: the Ringing Deeps map was shifted when Undermine was added next to it (a 2025 reply under the top lever comment), so the 2024 waypoints, which Wowhead's guide still prints (levers 49.46, 8.81; 53.90, 25.29; 57.62, 23.57; 62.84, 44.64; 59.05, 92.39 and the rare at 60.80, 76.68), lie about four points too far east. The lever positions used here are those commenters gave in 2025, and the place given is the westernmost of the positions in Wowhead's tooltip for the rare (56.8, 76.6, beside 60.8, 76.4), which fits the same shift. Neither was checked in the game. The wiki has no coordinates for the rare or the levers.
The guide linked is Wowhead's mount overview for The War Within (last edited 2026), whose entry for this mount is the paragraph and waypoints quoted here; no guide of its own for this mount was looked for. The item binds when picked up by Wowhead's tooltip; two 2024 comments speak of players selling them, which was not looked into. The rare also counts for Adventurer of the Ringing Deeps (wiki).
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
