Rare drop, as Reins of the Ascendant Skyrazor, from Queen Ansurek, the last of the eight bosses of Nerub-ar Palace, on Mythic difficulty only. It was a certain drop for the raid while The War Within was the current expansion and has been a rare one since Midnight launched.
Chance 1% once a week, so about 100 tries on average — About 1%, a figure Blizzard was not found to have published: it is the headline of Icy Veins' news piece of 18 February 2026 ('3 WoW Mounts Drop to 1% When Midnight Launches'; its text says only 'very rare') and wow.gg's '~1%' after The War Within, neither naming a source. Wowhead has no count from after the change: its item page (read 2026-10-11) records 78 mounts in 543 Mythic loots of Queen Ansurek (14.4%), nearly all from the time the mount was certain for the raid, and its tooltip's 0.2% is those 78 over the 39,314 loots of every difficulty, though only Mythic can drop it

While The War Within was current the raid always got it: Wowhead's top comment (2024) says three a kill until the launch of Midnight, a 2025 reply saw two, wow.gg says two and Icy Veins three. Commenters of 2026 still call it 100% in the Midnight pre-patch; Icy Veins wrote in 2026, two weeks before Midnight launched, that it stops being guaranteed at launch. No comment on Wowhead's page dates from after that (the newest is from 2026, before the launch), so nobody was found reporting a drop, or a count of kills without one, at today's rate: medium confidence for that reason.
One chance a week for each character, the raid's weekly lockout as for the Sureki Skyrazor; no source read spells out the Mythic lockout. Queen Ansurek is the last boss of a linear raid (Rasha'nan, then Broodtwister Ovi'nax and Nexus-Princess Ky'veza in either order, The Silken Court and her), so a visit means the whole raid on Mythic; the 60 minutes are the same estimate as for the Sureki Skyrazor, for all eight bosses. A 2025 Wowhead comment speaks of 'skip runs' that go straight to her; how such a skip is opened was not looked into.
On every difficulty she also has a chance at the Sureki Skyrazor (0.64% pooled), a separate mount; a 2026 reply on Wowhead supposes that a player who saw four mounts drop on one kill saw both kinds.
The reins bind when picked up (tooltip) and ask for level 30 (wiki). The entrance is from the game's own table (Azj-Kahet 43.5, 90.4); wow.gg gives 35.3, 72.0 in the City of Threads, the same spot on the city's map. Added in patch 11.0.2 (wiki). No guide is linked: it is one boss.
