Rare find in the Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest, the once-a-day reward for killing Coren Direbrew in the Grim Guzzler, the tavern in Blackrock Depths, while Brewfest is on. He is fought through the Group Finder's holiday queue, which forms the party and sets it down in the tavern.
Chance 1.23% once a day, so about 81 tries on average — Wowhead: 2,769 mounts in 224,420 opened Keg-Shaped Treasure Chests (item 117393, read 2026-10-10). The count pools the years since this epic chest came in (the wiki dates the change to patch 6.0.2, 2014). Blizzard has since raised the chance for an account's first attempt of the day and made every later attempt that day ineligible, with the chance growing after each failed day (its wording, quoted on the wiki, whose chest page dates it to the 2024 festival; no figures published), while those later chests still count as opened here, so the first chest of a day should do better than this. The older rare-quality chest (item 54535) has 6,893 in 192,290, or 3.58%.

Notes and sources
No place is given: the queue is joined from anywhere and carries the party straight to the Grim Guzzler (wiki: a hotfix of 2012). Whether Coren can also be reached by walking into Blackrock Depths was not established, and the chest is the reward of the queued run either way (wiki). For reference, the game's table has the dungeon's entrance at Searing Gorge 27.6, 72.4.
Brewfest 2026 ran from 20 September to 6 October, so the next chance is in September 2027. The party is made up by the queue; whether it can be entered with fewer than five was not looked into. The time on site is an estimate for the queue and the fight (wow.gg: 2-3 minutes).
Sources disagree on who gets a chance:
- Blizzard's wording on the wiki: 'Only the first attempt on a single Battle.net account will be eligible to receive the item drop', with 'significantly' increased rates for that attempt
- Wowhead comments on the chest from 2024 doubt that it applied that year ('it was definitely per character'); comments of 2025 and 2026 treat it as the rule
- wow.gg's guide (updated 2026) still says once a day for each character of level 60 or more, at 'about 3%', and is not linked for that reason
On level: the wiki says level 10 can queue but that only characters of the current expansion's levels get the epic chest, the rest a Keg-Shaped Treasure Box without mounts. Wowhead comments report:
- level 10 characters being handed the epic chest (2024)
- the Kodo from it on a level 15 character (2024)
- the Brewfest Bomber on a level 20 character (2026)
A hotfix of 29 September 2026 touched the required level of Coren's items (wiki). The mount asks for level 17 and Apprentice Riding (wiki).
The same chest can hold the Swift Brewfest Ram (2,440 of the same 224,420) and the Brewfest Bomber (1,018; added in 2025). Wowhead's Brewfest Holiday Guide was not read.
