How to get it

Rare drop from the Darkfuse Precipitant, a rare elite in the south of Undermine that is not there by itself: a player calls it by using a Canister of Darkfuse Solution on the pylon of De-Pollution Station X1119. The canister is sold by Sitch Lowdown for 100 Resonance Crystals at Friendly with Darkfuse Solutions. Everyone who fights the rare can loot it, whoever called it, with one chance at the mount a week for each character.

Chance 4.31% once a week, so about 23 tries on average — Wowhead's item page and tooltip (read 2026-10-11): 58 mounts in 1,345 recorded loots of the Darkfuse Precipitant. A small sample, mostly from the weeks after patch 11.1; wow.gg's 'around 5%' is a community estimate

Before you go

  • Undermine unlocked: the first chapter of the Undermine(d) campaign, which follows the Khaz Algar campaign · about 1.5 h
  • To call the rare oneself: the Undermine(d) campaign as far as Liberation of Undermine: The House Loses, which Monte Gazlowe gives at the Incontinental Hotel after Right Where We Want Him: Chrome King Gallywix, the last boss of the raid Liberation of Undermine, defeated. The raid's Story Mode, entered through Paks Topskimmer in the hotel, counts. Then Diversified Investments, from the Overly-Sealed Letter on the table in the hotel (43.3, 51.7), leads to Sitch Lowdown and opens Darkfuse Solutions · about 5 h
  • Friendly with Darkfuse Solutions: 3,000 reputation from Neutral, which is 6 Boxes of Darkfuse Miscellany from Sitch Lowdown at 100 Market Research and 500 reputation a box, 600 Market Research in all. Market Research comes out of the chest at the end of each S.C.R.A.P. Heap dig (14 to 16), from Undermine's rares (1 to 6, the Darkfuse Precipitant 12 to 14), and now and then from ordinary creatures and piles of trash · about 2 h
  • A Canister of Darkfuse Solution for each call: 100 Resonance Crystals from Sitch Lowdown, in his warehouse under Hovel Hill (30.6, 38.8, in through the Sewer Grate at 29.7, 41.1) · about 0.2 h

In all: about 8.7 h of play, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

About 23 kills are expected at that rate, one a week for each character. Players on Wowhead report the mount after 4, 7, 14, 20, 25, 28, 40 and 52 kills and none after 45, 60 and 78, and several doubt that the chance is as high as 5%.

The lockout is not from Blizzard: a much-liked 2025 Wowhead comment calls it weekly per character, a player who killed the rare twice in one week on one character got no loot the second time (2025), and wow.gg says the same.

The journal's 'World Quest: Darkfuse Precipitant' is the marker the fight puts on the map while the rare is up (the wiki lists a bonus objective of that name); nothing has to be accepted.

Calling the rare takes the unlock in the list above, but looting does not: commenters got the mount at Neutral with Darkfuse Solutions, at low Cartels of Undermine renown and on a level 70 character brought to Undermine by a summon, simply by hitting the rare someone else had called. The rare can be called again at once, with no timer (2025 Wowhead comment), so one unlocked character with canisters can call it for the account's other characters; the mount is account-wide once learned.

The same comment says the caller needs Renown 6 with the Cartels of Undermine besides Friendly with Darkfuse Solutions; no other source says so and the canister's tooltip asks only for the Friendly standing, so it is not listed.

The mount can drop again for a character whose account has it, and a spare can be handed to another player who took part in the kill (2025 comments); the item binds when picked up.

Places:

  • the rare: 41.4, 92.0 (wiki; Wowhead's tooltip 41.0-41.4, 91.4-92.6)
  • the pylon: 40.6, 91.8 (wiki, wow.gg, Wowhead comment)
  • Sitch Lowdown: 30.6, 38.8 (wiki, Wowhead's guide)

wow.gg's guide (updated 2026) is linked for its step list but calls the vendor 'Snazzy Bunkossum', the letter 'Excessively Sealed' and the quest 'The House Always Loses'; the wiki, Wowhead's guide and warcraftmounts.com all have Sitch Lowdown, the Overly-Sealed Letter and The House Loses.

Not established: whether the Darkfuse Solutions standing is shared (the wiki files it under Warband reputations, while wow.gg says it is per character), and whether Raid Finder counts for the raid quest.

The rare also gives 12 to 14 Market Research and has a chance at Miscellaneous Mechanica (see the Margin Manipulator).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
