Sold by Necrolord Sipe, the Combatant Mount Quartermaster in Old Town, Stormwind City, for 1 Vicious Saddle. It was the reward of The War Within's second PvP season and has since moved to the saddle vendor. A saddle is earned in rated PvP: wins at 1,000 rating or more fill the Season Rewards bar; the first full bar of a season gives that season's own vicious mount, and every further full bar in the same season gives a Vicious Saddle.
Time there about 1 min a visit
Before you go
- This season's vicious mount first: reach 1,000 rating (Combatant) in a rated bracket and fill the Season Rewards bar once (roughly 40 wins in rated battlegrounds, 80 wins in 3v3 or 240 in 2v2) · about 20 h
- 1 Vicious Saddle: fill the Season Rewards bar a second time in the same season · about 20 h
In all: about 40 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Stormwind City 76.8 65.6 - Fly there
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal.
Notes and sources
The journal and Wowhead's tooltip still give only the old source, The War Within Season 2, and name no vendor. That season is over, but three sources have the mount on sale:
- Wowhead's page for the item (229989) lists Necrolord Sipe in Stormwind City under sold-by, at 1 Vicious Saddle
- the wiki's page for the vendor (edited 2026) has it in his stock together with the Vicious Skyflayer and Vicious Void Creeper of the other two War Within seasons
- the wiki's page for the mount (edited 2026) says the same
Saddles can only be earned while a rated PvP season is running: the wiki's page for Midnight Season 2 (edited 2026) gives its start as 18 August 2026 and its end as ongoing; its own mount is the Vicious Lightbloom Boar. The wiki's wording for the saddle: one 'each time the Rated PvP progress bar is filled to 100% after the current seasonal mount has been earned', and since patch 8.0.1 a character can earn several in a season.
The saddle binds when picked up and the vendor is an Alliance one, so the bar has to be filled on an Alliance character. The guide gives no win count for Solo Shuffle or Battleground Blitz, and the points a win pays this season were not found. The one comment on Wowhead's page (2025) gives a script that counted the bar of The War Within Season 2 out of 2,400 points. The bar on the Rated tab of the PvP window shows the progress.
This is the Alliance mount (item 229989); the Horde Vicious Electro Eel (item 229988) is a separate mount sold by Deathguard Netharian in Orgrimmar. The wiki files it as a flying mount and gives level 30 for the item; Wowhead's page shows Apprentice Riding. Added in patch 11.1.0.
Coordinates: the wiki's 76.8, 65.6; Wowhead's tooltip for the vendor has 76.8, 65.4 and 76.8, 65.6. The guide linked is written for the Vicious War Ram and does not name the Electro Eel, but the way to a saddle and the vendor are the same.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
