Notes and sources

Wowhead's sold-by list has four sellers, all at 75 coins: Valadar Starsong and Fariel Starsong in Moonglade and the two Lunar Festival Vendor entries (Orgrimmar; Ironforge, The Exodar, Shattrath City and others). The wiki's own list for Fariel Starsong leaves the mount out.

Wowhead's map data puts the Orgrimmar Lunar Festival Vendor (its own entry, npc 47897) at 48.8, 56.8 and 52.8, 56.8. The other entry (npc 15898) stands at:

  • the Stormwind gates in Elwynn Forest: 32.0, 52.4 and 34.8, 50.4
  • Ironforge: 29.4, 14.8
  • Thunder Bluff: 70.8, 27.8
  • The Exodar: 74.0, 58.0
  • Shattrath City: 48.4, 36.2 and 52.4, 33.0
  • Dalaran in Northrend: 48.2, 44.8
  • the Vale of Eternal Blossoms: 63.2, 19.2 and 85.0, 65.0
  • Moonglade itself: 36.4, 58.0
  • old spots in Darnassus, Undercity and Silvermoon City

Those sightings are not dated: Wowhead comments of 2024 say the Orgrimmar vendor was missing that year, while one of 2026 speaks of the vendors in Orgrimmar again.

It was on sale again in 2026: Wowhead comments from that festival are from players who could not see it because they had bought it the year before.

Coins of Ancestry bind to the character and could not be passed around the Warband as of 2025 (Wowhead comment), so all 75 have to be on one character. They keep from year to year (wiki), so coins left over from earlier festivals count. Each elder gives a coin once per character per year; Lunar Preservation is offered during the festival and gives its 25 coins once per character.

Sources disagree on when the 2026 festival began (the wiki says 2 February, a guide 16 February); both end it on 2 March. Dates for 2027 were not found: the Lunar New Year falls on 6 February 2027.

Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
