How to get it

Reward of A Loyal Friend, the last quest of a ten-day chain given by a snapdragon runt in Flotsam Shoal, the camp on the Siren Isle: A Lifeline on the first day, then one feeding quest a day while the runt grows up. The days need not follow one another. Since June 2026 players report that the chain cannot be started: first the runt did not show, and since August the first quest cannot be completed (see notes).

Time there about 15 min a visit

Guides Method: Prismatic Snapdragon Mount Guide · Wowhead: Siren Isle Guide - The War Within Patch 11.0.7 (the island's opening questline)

Before you go

  • The Siren Isle's opening questline A Song of Secrets, all twelve quests: The Expedition Awaits (Dawn in the Foundation Hall, Dornogal), Friendly Competition, Facet-nating Signals, Cave Barging, The Radiant Vault, The Circlet Calls, To the Siren Isle!, To Scan a Crystal, The Second Signal, Buried Secrets, Reforged Anew, Uncovered Mysteries. The runt cannot be seen until the last one is handed in · about 1.5 h
  • Ten visits on ten different days. Day 1, A Lifeline: ask Zexel Fingersnap, on the rock above the runt (71.2, 47.4), for Kaja'Cola-Braised Meat. Days 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9, Hungry, Hungry Snapdragon: 8 Mystery Meat Snacks from the island's creatures. Day 4, Snap To It: 5 Meaty Rations from the pirates, naga or vrykul invading that week. Day 7, Temper Like A Tempest: 5 Storm-infused Mystery Meat from creatures inside the storm. Day 10, A Loyal Friend: speak to the grown snapdragon · about 2.5 h over 10 days
  • For day 7, the island's weekly world quest done in that week: it opens the Seafury Tempest, the island's storm, for the rest of the week, and Suzie Boltwrench in the camp (69.1, 49.2) then sends the character into it · about 0.5 h

In all: about 4.5 h of play, spread over 10 days, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Snapdragon runt below Zexel Fingersnap's rock, Flotsam Shoal
Siren Isle · 70.9, 48.6
/way Siren Isle 70.9 48.6
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 1.9 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Stormwind to Dornogal*
  2. Speak to the Captain to journey to the Siren Isle*
  3. Ride the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1.9 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Dornogal
  2. Speak to the Captain to journey to the Siren Isle*
  3. Ride the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Whether the chain can be started at present is in doubt, which is why confidence is low.

Wowhead comments on the mount's page and on the page of A Lifeline:

  • from April to July 2026, five reports from players who had the achievement A Song of Secrets and every quest on the island could not see the runt (one was told by support to report a bug)
  • from mid-August 2026 the quest is offered again but cannot be completed, because Zexel Fingersnap has no dialogue line for the meat and is not marked as the quest's target (four reports up to the end of September 2026; the newest player sees only 'pet healing' and 'why snapdragons?')

Nothing newer was found, and no word from Blizzard was looked for beyond these pages. The last signs of the chain working are a walkthrough comment and remarks from players in the middle of it, from January to March 2026. Whether a chain begun earlier can still be finished was not established.

The rest is as the sources describe it. The journal names only the last quest and the zone. Where the runt is:

  • Wowhead's quest page: 70.8, 48.4-48.6
  • comments: 70.98, 48.63 and 70.95, 48.66
  • Method: 71.03, 48.60

It is the Starving Snapdragon Runt on day 1, a Growing Snapdragon Runt after it, a Maturing Prismatic Snapdragon after day 4 and a Mature Prismatic Snapdragon after day 7. Only one quest can be done a day; a missed day costs nothing but the day (Method, warcraftmounts.com, comments). A 2024 reply did day 1 on one character and day 2 on another, so the chain seems to be shared by the account.

If neither the runt nor Zexel can be seen, the character may be inside the storm: Suzie Boltwrench or cancelling the Seafury Tempest aura leads out (2024 comment). The weekly quest that opens the storm is one of Legacy of the Vrykul, Serpent's Wrath or Storm's a Brewin, by the week (Method).

The amounts disagree: the wiki's page for Hungry, Hungry Snapdragon (edited 2026) and a 2026 comment say 8 Mystery Meat Snacks from most creatures; Method (2024) and early comments say 5 from beasts.

A Loyal Friend also gives a Teal Snapdragon Treat. Treats change the mount's colour and, by 2024 comments, another character of the account had to use a treat before it could ride the mount at all.

Getting there and the island's storm are as for Soweezi's Vintage Waveshredder, whose vendor is a few steps away. The island can be flown over only after a later quest and never in the storm, hence the ridden last stretch.

Guides: Method's is the day-by-day one. Wowhead's Siren Isle guide covers the opening questline and is linked as for Soweezi's Vintage Waveshredder. Wowhead also has a 2024 news post on getting this mount, which was not read. The wiki has no page for the runt. The item binds when picked up and asks for level 10 (wiki).

Confidence in this entry: low. Looked up in 2026.
