Dropped by the Infinite Corruptor in The Culling of Stratholme on Heroic difficulty, in the Caverns of Time. He is an extra boss on a clock: he stands in Market Row, at the far end of the left-hand street just past the gate that leads to Mal'Ganis (Mal'Ganis is to the right), and has to be killed within 25 minutes of the first wave of Scourge. When the time is up he flees through his portal and is gone for that run.

Time there about 20 min a visit
Before you go
Nothing to unlock first: go there and it is yours.
Getting there
/way Tanaris 61.1 62.1 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Caverns of Time*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Caverns of Time*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Heroic only: Normal difficulty has no Infinite Corruptor (Wowhead lists the drop under Heroic only), and the wiki names no Timewalking version of the dungeon. The entrance is the game's own table entry for the dungeon, inside the Caverns of Time in Tanaris. The time on site is an estimate for one run as far as the Corruptor.
The timer is 25 minutes from the first wave of Scourge (the wiki's pages for the reins and the boss; its page for the dungeon words it as the end of the introduction after entering Stratholme). It is the Heroic achievement The Culling of Time, and pulling him neither starts nor stops it. He has to die before he reaches his portal to leave any loot (wiki).
Inside:
- Chromie at the entrance starts things; a character that has finished the dungeon once can ask her to skip the introduction (since patch 3.3.3; otherwise the plagued crates are marked first)
- after the waves the party follows Arthas, who waits to be told the party is ready at each stop, so the pace is partly his
- the Corruptor is not at Mal'Ganis's spot: at the gate before the last boss the street forks, and he is in Market Row beside the bars, an Infinite controlling a drake (wiki; a 2022 comment)
A 2016 commenter took 12 minutes from the start of the timer, and one of 2013 warns that the Scourge appear beside Arthas and that his death fails the dungeon.
The drop is counted as certain. The wiki's pages for the reins and for the Infinite Corruptor both call the mount a guaranteed drop on Heroic, one per kill. Wowhead (item page, as read in 2026) has 23,208 reins in 25,266 recorded loots of him (npc 32273), the 91.85% its tooltip shows; its counts are per looting player and go back to when the dungeon was current. A 2015 commenter adds that the reins do not drop for a character that already has the mount.
Comments of 2016 and 2022 call it a 100% drop on Heroic. The one comment that reports no drop (2021, two runs) is answered by a 2022 reply from a player who had looked for the reins on the last boss.
The lockout was not checked: Heroic dungeons of that age are taken here to lock once a day for each character, while a 2021 Wowhead reply speaks of a week. Either way a missed timer costs that character its try until the reset.
The newest comment on Wowhead's page is from 2022, so nothing was found about the dungeon in Midnight; nothing suggests it changed.
The reins bind when picked up, are unique, and ask for level 27 (wiki). The Bronze Drake is one of the nine drakes of the achievement Awake the Drakes (see the Emerald Drake). No guide is linked: it is one boss on a timer, and the two Wowhead guides listed on the item's page are general collectors' lists from 2012.
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
