How to get it

In the Vision of Stormwind (Horrific Visions Revisited, entered from Soridormi's camp south of the Coreway in Dornogal) with at least one Faceless Mask active, pick up the four Cursed Horseshoes in one run: Cathedral Square (56.0, 55.5 on the vision's map), the Mage Quarter (50.9, 84.0), the Trade District (61.5, 75.5) and Old Town (75.5, 56.7). Then use the forge in the blacksmiths' corner of the Dwarven District (63.0, 37.3) to melt them down. That calls the Void-Forged Stallion, which drops the Void-Forged Stallion's Reins.

Time there about 20 min a visit

Guides Wowhead: Revisited Horrific Visions Rewards - Patch 11.1.5: Nightfall · Warcraft Secrets: Void-Forged Stallion

Before you go

  • A level 80 character and Soridormi's short introduction at the camp (the wiki says the Dornogal entrance has no other unlock: no key, cloak or Heart of Azeroth) · about 0.4 h
  • A first Faceless Mask, without which the horseshoes cannot be seen: the Mask of the Long Night is the reward for clearing all five areas of a vision in one visit · about 2 h
  • A week when the vision is Stormwind: everyone gets the same vision each week and the two cities take turns · 7 days

In all: about 2.4 h of play, spread over 7 days, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Soridormi, Horrific Visions camp south of the Coreway
Dornogal · 34.7, 68.8
/way Dornogal 34.7 68.8
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 1.1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Stormwind to Dornogal*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1.1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Dornogal
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Added with Horrific Visions Revisited in patch 11.1.5 (wiki: 22 April 2025). The wiki calls the reins a guaranteed drop from the Void-Forged Stallion, and Wowhead has 884 reins in 886 recorded loots of that creature (NPC 238079), the 99.77% its tooltip shows (2026), so it is counted as certain.

In a group only one player gets the reins from a kill (2025 Wowhead comments, Warcraft Secrets), so each player needs a run of their own. The reins are not mailed: two 2025 comments are from players who left without looting the stallion and lost them.

Places on the vision's map (map 2404), where Wowhead's guide, the wiki, Warcraft Secrets and a commenter's waypoints agree to within half a point:

  • Cathedral Square: 56.0, 55.5, on the grass southeast of the fountain (the wiki's map caption says 56.5, 55.5)
  • Old Town: 75.5, 56.7, to the right of the Pig and Whistle's entrance
  • Trade District: 61.5, 75.5, by the mailbox between the bank and the inn
  • Mage Quarter: 50.9, 84.0, left of the entrance to Larson Clothiers
  • forge: 63.0, 37.3 (Wowhead's guide calls it the anvil; the wiki and Warcraft Secrets say forge, and Warcraft Secrets puts it at 63.0, 37.0)

The Dwarven District has no horseshoe. Each horseshoe adds a stack of the buff Cursed Horseshoe, and the forge only answers at four stacks; the wiki says it all has to happen within a single run.

No district has to be cleared: the top Wowhead comment (2025) gives a route from the Cathedral through the Mage Quarter, the Trade District and Old Town to the Dwarven District that kills no elite, and another commenter ran to each horseshoe with one mask without doing the districts' objectives. One mask is enough (wiki, Wowhead's guide, Warcraft Secrets, comments).

Runs are not limited (wiki, as found for the Void-Scarred Windrider), so a failed run can be repeated at once in the same week. The time on the spot is an estimate for one such run; no source gives one.

That the visions are still run in Midnight was not checked again for this mount: the newest comment on the reins' page is from 2025. It rests on the notes for the Black Serpent of N'Zoth, the Void-Scarred Pack Mother, the Void-Scarred Windrider and the Void-Crystal Panther, which found Blizzard saying the visions stay playable and Wowhead replies of 2026 treating the sister mounts as live. Not established: how they scale for a level 90 character, and whether the two cities still alternate week by week in 2026.

Wowhead's guide (updated 2025) dates from The War Within; Warcraft Secrets' page carries no date. The place given above and its coordinates are the Void-Scarred Windrider's. The mount does not fly (comments).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
