How to get it

Rare drop from Chrome King Gallywix, the last boss of the Liberation of Undermine raid, on any difficulty, Raid Finder included. It is personal loot taken from his corpse; left unlooted, it comes in the mail.

Chance 0.57% once a week, so about 175 tries on average — Wowhead's tooltip and item page (read 2026-10-11): 111 mounts in 19,459 recorded loots of Chrome King Gallywix, pooled over every difficulty. By difficulty: Normal 56 in 6,944 (0.81%), Heroic 24 in 3,702 (0.65%), Raid Finder 26 in 8,582 (0.30%), Mythic 5 in 152. Blizzard published no figure; players speak of 0.5%

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The wiki says it 'very rarely drops' and 'can drop on any difficulty'; its raid page has 'extremely rare, all difficulties', and keeps the Mythic-only mount apart (Keys to the Big G, a separate entry). Comments on Wowhead confirm drops on Raid Finder, Normal and Mythic, the last of them a Mythic kill in 2026, in Midnight.

Wowhead's counts differ by difficulty, but a 2025 reply holds that a mount shared by all difficulties has the same chance on each, and the Mythic sample is only 152 loots; the pooled figure is used here. At 0.57% about 175 kills are expected; players report it on the second kill and not after 300, and one at kill 540.

The lockout is weekly, and by the game's usual rule each difficulty has its own, so one character has up to four tries a week; that rule was not confirmed for this raid in particular. It is personal loot with no roll: the player has to loot the corpse, and an unlooted mount is mailed (2025 comments). It can drop again for someone who already has it, and can then be handed to someone else who was in the kill (2025).

The time on the spot is an estimate for one visit through to the last boss. On Normal and higher the way to him leads through the other seven (wiki: Vexie and the Geargrinders, then four in any order, then a line from The One-Armed Bandit to Gallywix; a 2026 comment speaks of groups sharing a skip). Raid Finder has him alone in the wing Fall of the Chrome King, which asks item level 606 to queue (wiki); how that wing is queued for in Midnight was not looked up.

The place given above is the game's own entrance position; the wiki gives 41.6, 48.8, a few yards away. Undermine is ridden, not flown. The item binds when picked up and asks for level 30 (wiki); added in patch 11.1.0 (2025).

Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
