Notes and sources
The journal's cost of 7 is Untethered Coins: Wowhead's sold-by list (2026) has Shad'anis (npc 241624) alone, at 7 of currency 3303, and the wiki's pages for the mount, the vendor and the coin agree.
The weekly quest is the only source of coins that the wiki, Wowhead's guide and wow.gg name, and it is one completion a week for the whole account (a 2025 Wowhead comment: '7 per week per account'; wow.gg: 'limited to one completion per account'), so other characters do not speed it up. Shad'anis also sells the flying mount Lavender K'arroc for 10 coins, so both together take three weeks, and everything in the shop costs 66 coins by the comment, 68 by wow.gg.
Shad'anis offers the weekly at Overlook Zo'Shuul, and from the second week Constable Zo'ardaz in Tazavesh (48.6, 57.8) offers it too (wiki). The wiki gives the weekly as a level 80 quest, and alts can shorten the chain with A Skip Through the Void.
The sources do not agree on everything that comes first. wow.gg adds level 80, the Khaz Algar campaign, Renown 2 with The K'aresh Trust and a fifth introduction quest (it calls it Wrapped; the wiki and Wowhead have Wrapped Up, the cloak's upgrade tutorial). Neither the wiki nor Wowhead's guide names a renown, and whether the weekly waits for Wrapped Up was not established.
Nothing read says Midnight changed any of this: a 2026 comment under Wowhead's guide describes Phase Diving in Midnight (the conduit responds only with the Reshii Wraps worn, and for that player only after logging out and in), and wow.gg's page was updated in 2026.
A 2025 comment on the item says the mount did not show as learned until the buyer had switched characters and back. It is a ground mount and asks for level 10 (wiki).
Coordinates: Wowhead's tooltip for Shad'anis has 50.4, 36.2 (as found for the Lavender K'arroc), the wiki and wow.gg 50.4, 36.3.
Guides: Wowhead's Phase Diving guide (updated 2025) covers the unlock, the weekly quest and the vendor's list with this mount at 7 coins, and says the weekly counts anything done while Phase Diving, ordinary kills included.
