Notes and sources
This is the Dalaran above Crystalsong Forest. Wowhead's tooltip places Mei Francis between 57.2, 40.4 and 58.6, 43.6 on the city map and the wiki at 58, 42; the place given above is 58.0, 42.4, the same point as for the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth.
Mei Francis belongs to the Kirin Tor, whose standing lowers her prices (wiki). The wiki's list of her wares shows these reins at 10,000 and at 8,000 gold, the second being 20% off, the usual discount at Exalted. For the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth the steps in between were found reported differently by different sources; the full price is counted here.
The price has been 10,000 gold since patch 6.0.2; before that the reins cost Justice Points and, earlier still, Emblems of Heroism (wiki). Buying it also earns the achievement Wooly Mammoth. The Horde's Wooly Mammoth is a separate mount (item 44231) from the same vendor at the same price.
Needs level 17 and Apprentice Riding by the wiki (since patch 9.0.1); the game's item table has the required level as 10. Wowhead's full item page was not read, as the tooltip, the wiki and the item table agree, though Wowhead's page for the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth lists a different price from its own tooltip.
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
