How to get it

Rare drop from Sthaarbs, a rare elite that floats high over the middle of The Oasis on K'aresh. He can only be fought while Phase Diving: enter the phase at the Oasis's Phase Conduit, and the portal a Cartel Zo Phase Guardian holds open beside it sends the character up to one of four platforms around him.

Chance 6.84% once a week, so about 15 tries on average — Wowhead: 347 mounts in 5,070 recorded loots of Sthaarbs (6.84%, read 2026-10-10)

Time there about 10 min a visit

Guides Wowhead: K'aresh Rares and Treasures in Patch 11.2 - Locations, Lore Books & Rewards · Wowhead: Phase Diving Guide - Unlocking, Conduits, Rewards in Patch 11.2

Before you go

  • K'aresh opened and the first three chapters of the Ghosts of K'aresh campaign played, through The Tabiqa, which gives the Reshii Wraps · about 3 h
  • The Phase Diving quests: Another World from Shad'anis at the Oasis, then The Untethered Void, What Doesn't See You and The Untethered Horror · about 0.5 h

In all: about 3.5 h of play, starting from nothing.

  2. Take the Spatial Rift to K'aresh*
  3. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

One chance per character each week (Wowhead comments of 2025 and 2026). About 15 kills are expected at 6.84%; commenters report it on the first and fourth kill and after 27 and 123 kills; others had 10 and 39 kills without it, and one had killed him every week up to July 2026 without it.

He comes back about 60 minutes after a kill (the best-rated comment, from the test realm in 2025; 2026 comments agree), though one 2025 comment saw him return sooner, in steps of 15 minutes. A visit can therefore include up to an hour's wait, which the time on the spot does not count. His mark shows on the map while he is up.

The fight (best-rated comment, Wowhead's rares guide):

  • each platform has two swirls that throw the character to the next platform
  • Repulsive Gaze is avoided by changing platform
  • the orbs of Mindblast Beam knock a character off

When he dies the platforms go and the body falls to the ground to be looted; commenters advise something against the fall, such as a Goblin Glider Kit, because the slow fall did not always come. A 2026 comment says a character grouped with those who kill him could loot the body without having reached the platforms.

The kill also counts for the achievement Remnants of a Shattered World. Phase Diving takes the Reshii Wraps on the character, so level 80 at least (best-rated comment); in Midnight a conduit only responds while the wraps are worn (2026 comments, as set out for the Phase-Lost Slateback). Still there in Midnight: a 2026 comment speaks of patch 12.0.7.

Coordinates: 74.0, 32.5 for Sthaarbs and 75.8, 33.0 for the conduit and portal are from Wowhead's comments; Wowhead's rares guide (updated 2025) has 73.8, 32.9 and 75.8, 32.8. The wiki has only the mount's page (dropped by Sthaarbs on K'aresh, added in patch 11.2.0), none for the creature.

Guides: the rares guide gives him a short paragraph and the two waypoints; the Phase Diving guide is linked for the unlock, as for this guide's other K'aresh mounts.

Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
