Rare drop from Skadi the Ruthless, the third boss of Utgarde Pinnacle, on Heroic difficulty. He starts the fight on his proto-drake Grauf, out of reach above a long hallway of vrykul: the harpoons that the Ymirjar Harpooners drop there are fired from the launchers at its far end, and three hits bring him down to be fought.
Chance 1.22% once a day, so about 82 tries on average — Wowhead: 2,407 mounts in 197,358 recorded Heroic loots of Skadi the Ruthless (read 2026-10-10). Its pooled figure, 2,589 in 306,176 or 0.85%, also counts Normal kills, where the mount does not drop, and Timewalking kills (182 in 53,842) from the years the dungeon was in the Timewalking pool

Notes and sources
Heroic only: the wiki's page for Skadi and wow.gg say the mount does not drop on Normal, and a 2025 Wowhead comment tells of many runs cleared on Normal by mistake. About 82 Heroic kills are expected at 1.22%. The Heroic lockout is per character and resets daily (wow.gg, updated 2026), so more characters mean more tries a day. The lowest level that may enter on Heroic was not established.
The same Wowhead comment says Skadi can be reached without killing the two bosses before him, in 2-3 minutes, and that the harpoons need bag space; the wiki counts three harpoon hits to bring him down. The time on site is an estimate (wow.gg: 5-7 minutes a run with the gauntlet). The entrance is the game table's; wow.gg has 57.2, 46.5.
The wiki's page for the mount and wow.gg also name Timewalking, but the wiki's Timewalking page has Utgarde Pinnacle taken out of the Wrath of the Lich King pool in patch 9.1.5 (2021), so there is no Timewalking run of it now. Wowhead's Timewalking count (0.34%) dates from before.

A second Skadi the Ruthless on Wowhead (NPC 174062, in Icecrown, 85 in 13,717) belonged to the Death Rising event before Shadowlands and is gone. Wowhead comments of 2025 report drops during Collector's Bounty, a limited-time event that raised the chance; no current event of that kind was looked up.
