Looted from the Sporespawned Cache, a treasure in Fungara Village in southern Harandar. Click the Fungal Mallet in the west of the village (41.3, 67.9) for the five-minute buff of the same name, go east to the Mycelium Gong (46.6, 67.8) and ring it while the buff lasts: the cache appears beside the gong and holds the mount.

Notes and sources
Ring the Mycelium Gong with the Fungal Mallet buff and the Sporespawned Cache appears next to it; the journal's 'Treasure: Sporespawned Cache' leaves out the mallet and the gong. Wowhead's guide (by Neryssa, updated 2026) lists the cache under Treasure Locations with the same two waypoints and that line, and says rewards from treasures are usually guaranteed.

The mallet is very small and looks like a mushroom itself (Method); wow.gg places it near a fallen giant mushroom by an orange door in a rocky alcove, and the gong under a small pavilion with a red mushroom roof; a Wowhead comment puts the mallet just above the R of Fungara on the map. The buff reads: you have the Fungal Mallet, it is capable of ringing the Mycelium Gong. It can be taken again without limit if it runs out (wow.gg).
Players report two snags: the gong could not be seen until some creatures nearby were killed (2026 Wowhead comment; wow.gg says the same), and one player clicked the cache, got nothing and found the mount in the mail a couple of hours later (2026 comment; wow.gg also mentions the mail).
Wowhead records the mount in 1,605 of 1,669 opened caches (item page); it is taken here as always there, the rest being put down to characters whose account already had it or to the mount arriving by mail, which is not confirmed. The five minutes on the spot are wow.gg's figure for the whole thing.
No source names a level or a quest the cache asks for; wow.gg asks only for access to Harandar, level 10 and Apprentice Riding, and calls Harandar a levelling zone for levels 83 to 88, so what a character below 90 needs is not established.
The cache is one of the nine treasures of the achievement Treasures of Harandar, whose reward is the Vivacious Chloroceros, and wow.gg adds 50 reputation with the Hara'ti for each treasure. Added in patch 12.0.1 by the wiki (Wowhead says 12.0.0); the wiki has no page for the cache. The item binds when picked up.
