How to get it

Finish Kuri's quest chain The Legend of Aln'sharan at Har'kuai in Harandar, gather 500 Mysterious Skyshards from Harandar's creatures, and offer them at Kuri's lakeside spot with the extra action button Skyshard Entreaty. With the buff Aln'sharan's Blessing, find the cloud serpent Aln'sharan flying high along the edge of the zone and right-click him: the mount goes straight into the bags.

Time there about 15 min a visit

Guides Method: Echo of Aln'sharan · wow.gg: Echo of Aln'sharan

Before you go

  • The Blooming Lattice chain from Su'meera (65.4, 22.6), then Kuri's five quests (67.8, 27.4): Tales of the Sky, Ugh, Chores!, Carry On, Wayward Kuri, Skyglass Scavenging, The Legend of Aln'sharan. Shards do not drop before this is done · about 0.5 h
  • 500 Mysterious Skyshards from any creature in Harandar, its delves and dungeons included; rares give one on nearly every kill, ordinary creatures seldom (the chain gives the first 5) · about 5.5 h

In all: about 6 h of play, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Kuri, Har'kuai (shards are offered here; Aln'sharan then flies along the edge of the zone)
Harandar · 66.2, 25.5
/way Harandar 66.2 25.5
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 2.3 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Silvermoon*
  2. Take the portal from Silvermoon to Harandar*
  3. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 2.3 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Silvermoon*
  2. Take the portal from Silvermoon to Harandar*
  3. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Aln'sharan is not killed, whatever the journal's 'drop' says: he hands the mount to a character carrying the buff, and players report it arriving on the first click.

He has no fixed spot: he flies clockwise, high above the outer edge of Harandar, and Wowhead has no coordinates for him. Players say to approach his head until the cursor turns gold. The click dismounts the character in mid-air and his storm aura deals damage, so a way to slow the fall is needed; one player reports a root high up at 75.2, 42.7 where he passes within reach of someone standing. The 15 minutes on the spot are an estimate for the hand-in and the search.

Use the buff straight away: a player reported in 2026 that entering a Battleground Blitz removed it and the 500 shards were lost.

Shards are Warband-bound. Since a hotfix on 27 April 2026 (wiki, Wowhead comments) only one character has to finish Kuri's chain for shards to drop for the others; Method, wow.gg and Blizzard Watch still say every character must. The daily round of Harandar rares that yields shards can also drop the Vibrant Petalwing and the Rootstalker Grimlynx.

wow.gg calls the buff Plea of the Skyshards and the delve Pit of Spite; Wowhead's names are used here. Learning the mount gives the feat Herald of the Goddess.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
