How to get it

Crafted by an Alliance engineer with Northrend Engineering at 75 from Schematic: Mekgineer's Chopper, which the Alliance Vanguard's quartermasters sell at Exalted: Logistics Officer Silverstone in Valiance Keep and Logistics Officer Brighton in Valgarde. It takes 12 Titansteel Bars, 40 Handfuls of Cobalt Bolts, 2 Arctic Fur and three kinds of parts that Roxi Ramrocket at K3 in The Storm Peaks sells for 12,500 gold in all: 1 Salvaged Iron Golem Parts, 8 Goblin-Machined Pistons and 1 Elementium-Plated Exhaust Pipe.

Before you go

  • Engineering with Northrend Engineering at 75, its maximum, on the Alliance character that learns the schematic (the schematic binds when picked up) · about 2 h
  • Exalted with the Alliance Vanguard, 42,000 reputation from Neutral. Half of what is earned with its four sub-factions (Valiance Expedition, Explorers' League, The Frostborn, The Silver Covenant) counts for it, so the Alliance's quests in Northrend bring it along; the quick way is Wrath of the Lich King dungeons on Heroic with no faction tabard worn, where the kills pay the Vanguard · about 3.5 h
  • Schematic: Mekgineer's Chopper: 400 gold, which is 320 with the discount Exalted brings
  • The parts from Roxi Ramrocket at K3 in The Storm Peaks (40.7, 84.8): Salvaged Iron Golem Parts for 3,000 gold, 8 Goblin-Machined Pistons at 1,000 each and an Elementium-Plated Exhaust Pipe for 1,500. She sells them only to an engineer who has learned the schematic, and the pipe is in limited supply · about 0.3 h
  • 12 Titansteel Bars (each smelted from 3 Titanium Bars, an Eternal Fire, an Eternal Earth and an Eternal Shadow: 72 Titanium Ore in all), 40 Handfuls of Cobalt Bolts (made by the engineer from Cobalt Bars) and 2 Arctic Fur (from skinning in Northrend, or from Braeg Stoutbeard in Dalaran for 10 Heavy Borean Leather each) · about 5 h

In all: about 10.8 h of play, 12,820 gold, starting from nothing.

  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

A crafted mount with three errands:

  • the schematic, from the place given above
  • the parts, from Roxi Ramrocket
  • the materials

Either quartermaster sells the schematic. By Wowhead's tooltips Logistics Officer Silverstone stands at 57.6, 66.2 in Borean Tundra and Logistics Officer Brighton at 59.6, 63.8 in Howling Fjord; Roxi's coordinates are the wiki's.

The wiki's page for Roxi and a 2014 comment say Big Keech in the old Vale of Eternal Blossoms sells the same three parts. A 2011 comment says they once also came from salvaging Ulduar's machine bosses and no longer do, and one of 2016 that the guild discount on them is gone.

Titansteel is smelted, which in the game is a miner's recipe (none of the sources read says so); the bars can be made on another character and passed to the engineer. A 2014 comment adds that an alchemist can transmute Titanium Bars from Saronite and that Frozo the Renowned in Dalaran trades Eternals for Frozen Orbs. Wowhead's professions guide, a player's guide last updated in 2022, gives the same reagents.

Only Alliance characters can learn and ride the Chopper (Wowhead lists the Alliance's races on the item). Learning it also gives the account's Horde characters the Mechano-Hog, and the other way round (wiki; Wowhead comments of 2012 to 2017), so an account that already has the Hog has this too. The Hog is made the same way from the Horde Expedition's schematic.

Anyone can use the finished item, engineer or not: Wowhead's tooltip shows no binding line, so it can be handed or sold on, though the route here is making it. The mount seats a passenger from the rider's party in a sidecar (wiki).

Whether Alliance Vanguard reputation is shared across the Warband was not established, and the hours to Exalted are the widest uncertainty. The wiki's page for the faction still shows the old requirement, Engineering 450, where its page for the schematic has Northrend Engineering 75.

The wiki also names an 'extremely rare' chance of the mount in the gift packages of Blingtron 4000 and 5000 for Alliance characters; no figure is given and it is not the route here. Wowhead says 40% of profiles have the mount.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
