Looted from the Abandoned Ritual Skull, a treasure on the lower level of a cave in the Maisara Deeps in Zul'Aman. The skull only gives up its loot to a character carrying 1,000 Vile Essence, which the mobs of the Maisara Deeps drop.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Wowhead has the mount in 46 of 48 recorded loots of the skull and wow.gg calls it a guaranteed drop; the two other loots are not explained, and it is treated here as certain.
Vile Essence is an item (259361): Binds to Warband, unique at 1,000 (Wowhead's tooltip), so any character of the warband can gather it and send it on. wow.gg calls it party-bound, which the tooltip contradicts.
The farm is next to the skull, so the hours in the requirements are spent at the place given; the time on the spot is only the looting. By the comments the mobs inside the dungeon do not drop essence, nor do the area's non-elite mobs, and its two rares drop it at the same rate as everything else. Wowhead and Method advise a party for the elites and Wowhead points to farming groups in the Group Finder; the hours quoted come from players in a party and players on their own.
Helps the comments mention:
- the Dirty Deeps quest Send Dem Home gives the ability Shadra's Gift, whose buffs were cut from 10 stacks to 3 in April 2026
- while Memories of Malacrass and Digging Deeper are in the quest log (the chain starts with The Preparations Are Complete) two helpers follow the character (2026 comment)
Method says the skull counts for Treasures of Zul'Aman; a 2026 comment says the achievement's list does not have it.
Coordinates are Wowhead's object tooltip (44.7, 44.0); Method gives 44.71, 44.07, and wow.gg puts the cave entrance at 44.23, 43.50 and the skull on the lower level. The level needed and whether any quest opens the area are not established; wow.gg says level 80.
Added in patch 12.0.1 (wiki). In the beta the mount was listed in the Honored Warrior's Cache instead (wiki).
