How to get it

Reward of the quest The Battle of the Bridge, the fourth chapter of The War of Light and Shadow, Midnight's campaign at level 90. Arator gives it in Silvermoon City once the chapter Gathering of the Elves is done; it is a scenario fought from Silvermoon Harbor across the Shining Span to the defeat of Imperator Nocturnius, and Arator takes it in at the end. The quest gives the Emerald Hatchling pet as well.

Before you go

  • Foothold, the first chapter: twelve steps from Feeding the Flame (Lor'themar Theron, Silvermoon City) to Nothing Stands Forever · about 1.5 h
  • The Voidspire, a raid quest: complete the raid The Voidspire (credit comes with the defeat of Alleria Windrunner; the quest's objectives list the raid's Story Mode as an optional way in), then the quests The Broken Sky and Wake of the Darkwell · about 1 h
  • Gathering of the Elves, the third chapter: ten steps from The Kaldorei to The Elves are Going to War, which ends with Lor'themar Theron at the Sanctum of Light in Silvermoon City · about 1.5 h

In all: about 4 h of play, starting from nothing.

Getting there

Arator, Sanctum of Light (quest start)
Silvermoon City · 45.8, 70.2
/way Silvermoon City 45.8 70.2
From Stormwind (Alliance) about 1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Silvermoon*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Silvermoon*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

The quest is Wowhead's 88769: level 90, either faction, started by Arator (npc 240267) and handed in to another Arator (npc 245061) at the end of the scenario. It is one criterion of the account-wide achievement The War of Light and Shadow.

Where Arator stands: Wowhead's tooltip has him in Silvermoon City at 45.2-45.8, 70.2-70.6. That this is the Sanctum of Light is taken from the quest before it, whose objective is to return there, and from the Peridot Dragonhawk's notes, which found the campaign's first quest marked at 45.5, 70.3.

The scenario's stages (wiki):

  • speak to Arator
  • push the Twilight's Blade back at Silvermoon Harbor
  • defeat Blek the Voidspitter and Udor Eyestabber
  • destroy four ethereal turrets
  • signal Vereesa
  • speak to Arator at the bridge
  • kill 200 enemies on the Shining Span
  • defeat Imperator Nocturnius
  • speak to Arator

Time on the spot: a 2026 Wowhead comment timed it at 15 minutes 19 seconds with the cutscenes and guessed 20 to 25 for a slower character; another says it can be played in a party. Every hour figure is an estimate: no source gives a time.

The chapters follow the Peridot Dragonhawk's notes and the wiki's Midnight endgame page:

  • Foothold
  • The Voidspire
  • Gathering of the Elves
  • this quest, as a chapter of its own

Which difficulties count for the Voidspire quest was not found stated. The wiki lists Story Mode among its objectives, and Icy Veins (a search excerpt) says Story Mode opens with the quest, through Venzilion the Reality Cracker at the meeting stone outside the raid, as a simplified version of the last fight. The game's own data gives no entrance for the raid.

Wowhead's series for the quest reads '1. The Elves Assemble, 2. The Battle of the Bridge', while the wiki gives The Elves are Going to War as the quest before it and The Elves Assemble as the scenario's first stage; which is right was not settled.

Hotfixes of 1 and 3 April 2026 made Arator show again for characters that could not hand the quest in (wiki); a 2026 Wowhead comment reports being stuck at the end until logging out and in.

No Wowhead guide to the level 90 campaign was found; the links are the wiki's quest-by-quest list and Icy Veins' news post on this quest. The mount is a ground mount, binds when picked up and asks for level 10 (wiki). The quest also gives 1,000 Silvermoon Court reputation, and the quest after it, March on Quel'Danas, is another raid quest; the campaign's last quest gives the Peridot Dragonhawk.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
