How to get it

Reward of the quest Vivid Chloroceros from Mothkeeper Wew'tam at The Den in Harandar, which she offers once the Warband has collected 50 of Harandar's 120 Glowing Moths. The first set of 40 moths is there from the start; the second set only appears at Hara'ti Renown 4, so 50 moths means Renown 4.

Time there about 2 min a visit

Guide Method: Vivid Chloroceros

Before you go

  • Hara'ti Renown 4 (Big Moth Hunter I), which makes the second set of 40 moths appear. A rank is 2,500 reputation and counts for the whole Warband; Harandar's story and side quests, world quests, first kills of its rares and the weekly activities all give it · about 2 h
  • 50 Glowing Moths: the 40 of the first set and 10 of the second, scattered over Harandar. A moth collected on one character counts for the whole Warband · about 0.75 h

In all: about 2.8 h of play, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources

The journal and Wowhead's tooltip give the source as the quest Vivid Chloroceros (Wowhead quest 96502, minimum level 80; its text: "Thank you for gathering these beautiful moths. Please accept this as thanks."). Wew'tam's coordinates are the wiki's and Blizzard Watch's; Method gives 49.30, 54.36.

Until patch 12.1 the mount was bought from Wew'tam for 10 Luminous Dust once 50 moths were found, one dust a moth. A 2026 Wowhead comment says that since 12.1 she no longer sells for dust, which is now a grey item, and hands out the rewards by moth count. The wiki's item page, Wowhead's vendor tab and the 2026 guides (Blizzard Watch, Method, Icy Veins, wow.gg) still describe the purchase; which holds today was not confirmed in the game. Whether the four smaller rewards before it (10, 20, 30 and 40 moths) have to be claimed first was not established.

Sources disagree on when the first set can be collected: Renown 1 (Method, wow.gg) or Renown 2 (wiki, Blizzard Watch), and the wiki lists Wew'tam herself as a Renown 2 unlock. One Wowhead comment puts the second set at Renown 5 in its text and Renown 4 in its table.

Moths show on the minimap from Renown 2 (first set) and Renown 6 (second set); before that a map addon marks them (Icy Veins names HandyNotes: Midnight). Collection has been shared across the Warband since a hotfix of 10 March 2026 (wiki). All 120 moths (Renown 9) give the Elder Glowmite from the same NPC.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
