How to get it

Sold by Sergeant Vornin, the animal handler of the Void Assaults task force on the upper level of the Bazaar in Silvermoon City, for 6,000 Voidlight Marl once the achievement Void Response Team is earned. That achievement is six others, all from the Void Assaults of patch 12.0.5: a Void Strike or Incursion completed in Eversong Woods and one in Zul'Aman, 25 completed in each of the two zones, 100 Field Accolades earned, and 100 creatures afflicted with Apex Corruption defeated in Void Strikes. The item's own text also asks for a second achievement, Ritual Site Disruptor; whether the vendor enforces it is disputed.

Guides Wowhead: Void Assaults in Midnight: Patch 12.0.5 - Strikes, Incursions, and Rewards · Wowhead: Ritual Sites in Midnight - Challenges, Locations, and Rewards · Method: Unbound Mana Wyrm

Before you go

  • Void Assaults opened: the quest Void Strike from Ranger Captain Lilatha at the task force's post on the upper level of the Bazaar (48.1, 49.7), which asks for one Void Strike to be completed, and the short follow-up quests there that lead to the first Ritual Site · about 1 h
  • The achievement Void Response Team: 25 Void Strikes or Incursions completed in Eversong Woods and 25 in Zul'Aman (the first in each zone is an achievement of its own), 100 Field Accolades earned from Void Assaults or Ritual Sites, and 100 creatures afflicted with Apex Corruption defeated in Void Strikes. The assault is in one of the two zones each week and changes with the weekly reset, so the two zones take at least two weeks · about 6 h over 8 days
  • Disputed, see notes: the achievement Ritual Site Disruptor, which is a Tier 3 Ritual Site completed, Ritual Sites Renown 8, and all eight Ritual Site challenges unlocked (Tendrils, Manifestations, Magical Alarm Bells, Malevolent Boons, Tainted Corpses, Reinforced, Patrols, Embers) · about 10 h
  • 6,000 Voidlight Marl, the currency of Midnight's outdoor vendors: 40 in the Field Pouch of each Void Strike, 120 in the Field Satchel of a Void Incursion, and more from Ritual Sites the higher the tier and the more challenges (500 to 600 at tier 5 with all eight) · about 2 h

In all: about 19 h of play, spread over 8 days, starting from nothing.

From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1.1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Orgrimmar to Silvermoon*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Low confidence because of one open question: is Ritual Site Disruptor needed? It is counted as needed so that nobody arrives short; without it the route is about 9 hours over two weeks.

For:

  • the item's text as Wowhead shows it ('Requires the completion of the Void Response Team and Ritual Site Disruptor Achievements')
  • the wiki's pages for the mount and for Ritual Sites
  • Blizzard Watch (2026: '50 Void Assaults and enough Ritual Sites to hit the end of the renown track')

Against:

  • the journal names only Void Response Team
  • that achievement's reward line reads 'Unlock Unbound Manawyrm for purchase' while Ritual Site Disruptor has no reward line (Wowhead tooltips)
  • Wowhead's Void Assaults guide and Method's guide for the mount list only Void Response Team
  • a 2026 Wowhead comment says 'I did not need to complete the Ritual Site Disruptor achievement' to buy it, with one reply agreeing and another recalling that Renown 8 was asked as well

Icy Veins' renown table puts this mount at Renown 8 where Wowhead and the wiki put the Void-Touched Hawkstrider (4,500 Marl), probably a slip. Added in patch 12.0.5 (21 April 2026).

Void Strikes run one at a time in the assaulted zone and are marked on the map; a new one starts elsewhere as soon as one ends, and enough of them fill a zone-wide bar that starts a Void Incursion (Wowhead guide). The weekly quest Void Assault: Eversong or Void Assault: Zul'Aman asks for five strikes and pays a Ranger's Cache with 75 Field Accolades (Icy Veins), so the 100 accolades come with the rest; 100 Dark Particles from the creatures there buy 10 more from Maren Silverwing. What marks a creature as having Apex Corruption and how common they are was not found; Method words it as 100 Void corrupted creatures.

Void Response Team shows account-wide progress (Wowhead tooltip). Field Accolades cannot be moved between characters (Wowhead guide); whether Voidlight Marl can was not established.

Ritual Sites: one of two is open each week (Daggerspine Point in Eversong Woods, Broken Throne in Zul'Aman), entered at a Curious Obelisk. Renown comes at about 1 reputation a Spoil plus 750 and 500 for the first two runs of a week (Wowhead guide, Icy Veins); the reputation a rank takes was not found. The challenge unlocks range from completing a tier 2 to 4 site and speaking with Ranger Captain Lilatha or Lady Darkglen to random finds inside (Wowhead's guide has the table).

The wiki says the journal wrongly shows 200 Field Accolades; the journal data used here shows 6,000 with no currency. Vornin's place is Wowhead's (48.4 to 48.6, 50.2 to 50.6); the wiki has 48.68, 50.36 and Method 48.51, 50.41. Method writes the name Unbound Mana Wyrm.

Confidence in this entry: low. Looked up in 2026.
