How to get it

Sold by Kifaan for 15 Voidlight Marl once the achievement A Trip Around the Stars is earned. Kifaan stands at the Umbral Base Camp of Val and of Naigtal, the two small worlds of the Showdown feature, which are reached through a portal in Voidstorm and are open in alternate weeks. The achievement is six others: Into the Stars, Prepared for a Showdown, Frosty Domanaar Politics, Showdown Slugger: Val, Climate Strange: Val and Showdown Success: Val.

The Showdown unlocked: Riftblade Maella on the upper level of the Bazaar in Silvermoon City (47.7, 51.1) gives A Secondary Strike or The Time to Strike, then Stalkers of the Stars, Veterans of the Great Dark and To the Voidstorm and Beyond!, which ends at the portal · about 0.75 h

Notes and sources

Added in patch 12.0.7 (16 June 2026). The Val quest lines were released a fortnight apart and the last opened on 21 July 2026, so the achievement has been within reach since then (wiki, Wowhead comment). The journal files the mount under achievements and gives the cost without its currency.

The place given is the portal, because the vendor's world changes weekly. Kifaan's Val coordinates are Wowhead's (NPC 266234) and Method's, the Naigtal ones Method's. Riftblade Maella stands by the portal at 51.6, 71.1 (Wowhead comment). Each world is entered on a Normal or a Heroic tier, chosen at the portal; no source says these achievements need Heroic.

Blizzard says the introduction gives a toy, the Lightveil Recall Beacon, that returns to the base camp of the open world. A Trip Through the Stars is the Naigtal twin of this achievement and unlocks the Netherforged Nullframe from the same vendor.

Not established:

whether the Showdown introduction asks for the Void Assaults introduction or the Midnight campaign first
whether a character starting now is offered all three Val quest lines in a single week
how long the storms, rares and world quests take on live servers (a hotfix of 26 June 2026 made rares more frequent)
whether flying works on Val

The wiki lists Preparing for Threats under both worlds; the Wowhead comment did it on Naigtal.
