Sold as Reins of the Spotted Frostsaber by Lelanai, the saber handler in Bel'ameth under Amirdrassil, for 1 gold. Night elves buy it outright; every other Alliance race has to be Exalted with Darnassus first.

Notes and sources
Alliance characters only. The journal and Wowhead's tooltip still give the zone as Darnassus, but Lelanai stands in two places (wiki). The place given above is Bel'ameth on the Amirdrassil map (creature 216677; 51.4, 65.8 by Wowhead's tooltip, 51.4, 66.0 on the wiki). The other is the Cenarion Enclave of old Darnassus (creature 4730; 42.8, 32.3), which burned with Teldrassil and is only reached through Zidormi in Darkshore.
Bel'ameth was added in patch 10.2.5; the Alliance reaches it by the portal in Stormwind's Wizard's Sanctum (the wiki, as read for the Swift Stormsaber).
Wowhead's sold-by list for the item (as read in 2026) has both of her: the Bel'ameth one at 1 gold and the old Darnassus one at 80 silver, presumably a price seen with the Exalted discount. The wiki lists the reins at 1 gold. The item's three Wowhead comments are from 2007 and 2008.
The reputation rule is the wiki's: 'Only night elves can buy from Lelanai by default; other characters must be exalted with Darnassus', and its faction page lists this mount as 'Exalted (for non-Night Elf members of the Alliance)'. The reputation takes no time on a night elf or on a character that is already Exalted.
Besides the tabard, the faction page names these sources of reputation:
- quests in Teldrassil, Darkshore, Ashenvale, Stonetalon Mountains, Feralas and Thousand Needles
- the Argent Tournament
- the Molten Front's writs of commendation
Which dungeons count for the tabard in the current patch was not established. The wiki's faction page still describes the tabard's seller in old Darnassus (36.6, 49.0, by the flight path); her own page, as read for the Swift Stormsaber, has her at the Terrace of the Moon in Bel'ameth as well (46.5, 70.6 on the Amirdrassil map), with the tabard at 10 silver.
No guide is linked: buying it only takes turning up, and no Wowhead guide to Darnassus reputation was found.
