Guides Wowhead: Championing the Argent Tournament · wow.gg: Swift Violet Ram
Before you go
- Champion of Ironforge: 3 days of Aspirant dailies (15 Aspirant's Seals at 5 a day), then 5 days of Valiant of Ironforge dailies (25 Valiant's Seals at 5 a day) and The Valiant's Challenge. A character that is not a dwarf champions its own city first and Ironforge after it: 13 days · about 3 h over 8 days
- Exalted with Ironforge, unless the buyer is a dwarf: the Ironforge Tabard worn in dungeons turns their reputation into Ironforge's, and a Champion's Writ, taken instead of a Champion's Purse from the Champion dailies, buys a commendation badge of the city · about 3.5 h
- 5 Champion's Seals, which the journal text does not mention (covered by the 10 that A Champion Rises pays on reaching Champion)
- 500 gold
In all: about 6.5 h of play, spread over 8 days, 500 gold, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Icecrown 76.4 19.4 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Crystalsong Forest*

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The journal leaves out the seals: the wiki's pages for the mount and for Derrick Brindlebeard, Wowhead's Argent Tournament guide and wow.gg all give 500 gold and 5 Champion's Seals. About 8 days of dailies for a dwarf starting from nothing, 13 for another race. Champion's Seals can be moved between the characters of a Warband since patch 11.0.0 (wiki).
Coordinates: Wowhead's tooltip for the vendor (NPC 33310) has 76.4, 19.4 and 76.6, 19.4. He also sells the Ironforge Ram, for 100 seals.
Wowhead has two items that teach this mount, both sold by Derrick Brindlebeard for 500 gold (tooltips as read in 2026): 46748 carries no reputation line, 46762 reads "Requires Ironforge - Exalted". As for the Great Red Elekk and the Swift Burgundy Wolf, that is taken here as the usual rule for racial mounts: a dwarf is sold the first, any other Alliance race needs Exalted for the second. Which item he shows to whom was not confirmed in the game.
The sources disagree on who may buy:
- Wowhead's Argent Tournament guide (updated 2022): these mounts unlock on becoming an Exalted Champion of the city
- the wiki: he sells to dwarves or champions of Ironforge, and his gossip says only champions of Ironforge may buy
- wow.gg (updated 2026): Ironforge reputation has not been required since patch 9.0.1
Champion of Ironforge is taken as needed either way, since the seals come with the Champion rank. Whether a Dark Iron dwarf or an Earthen counts as a dwarf for this vendor, and which city each starts with, was not established.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
