Reward of the quest The Abyssal Ride, the second of two quests Moanah Stormhoof of the Earthen Ring gives on the sea floor of Kelp'thar Forest in Vashj'ir: tie off a lure at the rope beside her, mount the seahorse it draws and stay on it by pressing the direction that is called out. She offers her quests only once the zone's opening story has been played, from Call of Duty in the capital to the fight for the sunken ship.

Notes and sources
The journal has it right: the quest The Abyssal Ride (25371) in Kelp'thar Forest. Wowhead lists it for both sides, level 30, starting and ending with Moanah Stormhoof, as the second of a series of two after Better Late Than Dead (25477).
Moanah stands under water, so the last stretch is swum. Wowhead's tooltip has her at 46.0, 46.2 and 46.0, 46.8, with a third pin at 59.8, 4.2, far to the north, which nothing found explains; the wiki has 46.0, 46.8.
The two sides reach her by different quests. By the wiki the quest before Better Late Than Dead is All or Nothing for the Alliance and Blood and Thunder! for the Horde, each handed in to Erunak Stonespeaker at 46.3, 46.9.
Call of Duty: the wiki has the Alliance's (14482) from Recruiter Burns and the Horde's (25924) from Commander Thorak, and says that since patch 7.0.3 accepting it takes the character straight to Erunak in the wreck (the Briny Cutter for the Alliance, the Immortal Coil for the Horde) with no ship to wait for. Its page for the Alliance version also carries a line saying the quest was removed in 7.0.3, which its own patch note and Wowhead comments of 2022 and 2024 contradict.
The breadcrumbs before it lead to Call of Duty: Hero's Call: Vashj'ir!, Warchief's Command: Vashj'ir!, The Eye of the Storm and To the Depths. Whether Call of Duty can be taken without one of them was not established; A Personal Summons has been removed (a 2022 reply). The wiki notes that the opening can misbehave on a high-level character when other phases of the area are active, and suggests abandoning the quest and taking it again.
The ride (wiki): use the Braided Rope on the ledge about 10 yards north-west of her (45.4, 46.7), swim to the seahorse that comes and mount it. Grip starts at 100 and each missed prompt costs 20.
Tips from Wowhead comments, mostly 2010-2017:
- put away any companion pet first, as the lure counts as one (the best-rated comment, 2010)
- answer with the keys 1, 2 and 3 or by clicking the buttons, not with the movement keys
- do not use the rope a second time, or the seahorse swims slowly for some minutes and the quest does not complete (2015)
- the prompts come in the same order every time (wiki; a 2010 comment lists them, confirmed in 2014)
The time on the spot is an estimate for the two quests with a failed try or two. No current step-by-step guide to the whole chain was found; the wiki's quest page has the walkthrough of the ride and the list of quests.
The mount is an aquatic one that can only be summoned in Vashj'ir (wiki: usable on the sea floor there since patch 4.0.6), with 450% swim speed. The item asks for level 30 and binds when picked up. It was called the Abyssal Seahorse until patch 6.0.2.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
