Dropped by Dormus the Camel-Hoarder, who can only be reached through a Mysterious Camel Figurine in Uldum. One tiny figurine at a time stands at one of 50 spots in the old (Cataclysm) version of the zone, which Zidormi in Ramkahen switches to. About 1 in 20 is real: it carries whoever clicks it to the Steam Pools in Feralas, with 20 minutes to find and kill Dormus. The others crumble to dust.
Chance 5% per try, so about 20 tries on average — Per figurine found, and unofficial: Wowhead's guide (figures compiled by the WoW Secret Finding Discord) gives a 5% chance that a figurine is the real one, and the Mysterious Camel Figurine addon says about 1 in 20; Blizzard never published a figure. Dormus then drops the reins on practically every kill (Wowhead tooltip: 99.91%). There is no lockout on the character; the limit is the figurine, one at a time for everybody on the realm group and War Mode setting, with a new one 2-8 hours after the last was clicked

Getting there
/way Uldum 56 35.2 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Caverns of Time*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Caverns of Time*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
About 20 figurines expected at 5%, and other hunters click them too, so this is usually weeks of looking in. Figurines only appear in the Cataclysm version of Uldum (wiki, Wowhead's guide), and War Mode on and off are separate copies of the zone, each with its own figurine. A figurine serves one character: the first to click it.
Wowhead's guide advises a sweep about once an hour rather than camping, and noting the time a false figurine was clicked: it vanishes within minutes and the next one comes 2-8 hours later. The 20 minutes on the spot are an estimate for one sweep of the 50 spots.
Figurines stand beside something (a tree, a ruin, a grave) and are easy to miss. The guide and its addons (Camel Spotter, and the Mysterious Camel Figurine addon, updated 2026) carry the 50 waypoints; they are not repeated here. A false figurine leaves Crumbled Statue Remnants, vendor trash.
Dormus stands at about 69.4, 73.2 in Feralas (Wowhead's tooltip), in a copy of the Steam Pools that cannot be reached any other way (wiki).
Learning the mount gives the feat Scourer of the Eternal Sands and a title. The item asks for level 17 (wiki). Wowhead's guide was last updated in 2025 and is labelled patch 11.0.7; nothing newer was found on the timer.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
