How to get it

Sold by the guild vendors in the capital cities for 3,000 gold, to a character that is Exalted with a guild which has earned the guild achievement Guild Glory of the Cataclysm Raider. The achievement belongs to the guild, not the character: being a member of a guild that already has it is enough.

Time there about 2 min a visit

Guide wow.gg: Dark Phoenix

Before you go

  • Membership of a guild that has Guild Glory of the Cataclysm Raider. A guild without it has to earn it: every boss of Blackwing Descent and of The Bastion of Twilight, and the Conclave of Wind and Al'Akir in the Throne of the Four Winds, killed in a guild group, which in these 10-player raids means at least 8 guild members inside · about 0.5 h
  • Exalted with that guild, 42,000 reputation from Neutral: every quest handed in pays some, as do dungeon and raid bosses and rated PvP wins in a guild group; the guild tabards raise what is earned · about 12 h
  • 3,000 gold

In all: about 12.5 h of play, 3,000 gold, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources

The journal says only 'Guild Vendors' and the price; it leaves out both conditions, the guild's achievement and the Exalted standing (the wiki's page for the reins: 'At exalted reputation with a guild that has obtained' the achievement; wow.gg; Wowhead comments from 2010 on). It is the same kind of purchase as the Thundering Jade Cloud Serpent, one expansion later.

Guild Glory of the Cataclysm Raider (achievement 4988, wiki) is three guild achievements, each every boss of the raid killed in a guild group:

  • Blackwing Descent Guild Run
  • The Bastion of Twilight Guild Run
  • Throne of the Four Winds Guild Run

The wiki names no difficulty; wow.gg says any counts and that the personal Glory of the Cataclysm Raider does not unlock the mount. No player count is given, because the route through a guild that already has the achievement takes none, as for the Thundering Jade Cloud Serpent and the Blacksteel Battleboar. A guild earning it is another matter: 8 guild members of a 10-player raid, 20 of a 25-player one (wow.gg; the wiki, as read for the Thundering Jade Cloud Serpent).

Finding a guild that has it: old, large guilds are the likely ones, and a guild's page on the game's website shows its achievements (a 2021 Wowhead comment). For a guild that wants to do it, the entrances from the game's own table:

  • Blackwing Descent in the Burning Steppes (22.9, 26.5)
  • The Bastion of Twilight in the Twilight Highlands (33.9, 78.1)
  • Throne of the Four Winds in Uldum (38.2, 80.7)

The mount is learned for the account and can be ridden by characters in guilds without the achievement (comments of 2015 and 2018). Buying failed for some from October 2024 ('item not found' at every guild vendor, known to Blizzard by a 2024 reply); comments of 2025 bought it without trouble, so it is taken to work.

Wowhead's sold-by list (as read in 2026) has 3,000 gold at fifteen entries: Goram (Orgrimmar), Shay Pressler (Stormwind City), Steeg Haskell, Velia Moonbow, Nuri, Larissia, Randah Songhorn, Riha, Mirla Silverblaze, Perry Charlton, Ulla Skycloven and four entries for Kim Horn. The list gives their zones only as numbers, and the vendors other than the first two were not looked up (the notes for the Golden King place the Alliance ones). The two places given are the ones this guide uses for guild vendors, with the coordinates given for the Thundering Jade Cloud Serpent and the Kor'kron Annihilator (from the wiki and Wowhead's tooltip).

Guild reputation belongs to one character in one guild; it is not tagged as a reputation in the Planner, because the faction carries the guild's own name. The hours to Exalted are a rough figure and the widest uncertainty here. The item asks for level 27 and Apprentice Riding and binds when picked up (wiki); added in patch 4.0.3a.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
