Sold by Shay Pressler, the guild vendor in the Stormwind Visitor's Center in the Trade District, for 1,500 gold to an Alliance character that is Exalted with its own guild. The Alliance's other guild vendors sell it too.
Time there about 2 min a visit
Before you go
- An Alliance character in a guild; any guild will do, since the old Guild Level 25 requirement went when guild levels were removed in patch 6.0.2 · about 0.1 h
- Exalted with the guild, 42,000 reputation from Neutral: every quest handed in pays some, as do dungeon and raid bosses and rated PvP wins in a guild group. The Illustrious Guild Tabard (Friendly, 125 gold) adds 50% and the Renowned Guild Tabard (Honored, 250 gold) adds 100%; there is no weekly cap · about 12 h
- 1,500 gold
In all: about 12.1 h of play, 1,500 gold, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal.
Notes and sources
The journal says only 'World Vendors'. The reins bind to the Warband (Wowhead's tooltip), and learning the mount also teaches the Horde's Kor'kron Annihilator (wiki; a 2014 Wowhead comment saw the scorpion arrive with the lion), so an account needs only one of the two purchases. The mount stays once learned, and without a guild its banner shows the Alliance lion (comments of 2014 and 2017).
Wowhead's sold-by list (as read in 2026) has seven Alliance guild vendors at 1,500 gold:
- Shay Pressler in Stormwind City
- Steeg Haskell in Ironforge
- Velia Moonbow in Darnassus
- Nuri in The Exodar
- Riha in Shattrath City
- Mirla Silverblaze in Dalaran in Northrend
- Perry Charlton in Boralus
Only the first was looked up. Wowhead's tooltip has Shay Pressler at 64.2, 77.0 and 64.6, 76.8, the wiki at 64.7, 76.8 beside the exit of the Valley of Heroes, wow.gg at 64.2, 77.0.
What is needed is guild membership and Exalted with the guild: a 2016 Wowhead comment and wow.gg list only those. The wiki's table of Alliance guild rewards still shows Guild Level 25 beside the reins, but guild levels are gone and that achievement is a Feat of Strength since patch 6.0.2 (wiki); not confirmed in the game.
Guild reputation belongs to one character in one guild; it is not tagged as a reputation in the Planner, because it carries the guild's own name. The 42,000 is the standard ladder from Neutral to Exalted. The time to Exalted is a rough estimate: it comes with ordinary questing, faster with a tabard on.
Sources disagree on what happens on changing guild, as for the Kor'kron Annihilator: wow.gg's guide for this mount says the reputation resets on joining a new one, so the mount is best bought before leaving. wow.gg also speaks of a guild perk that takes 10% off the price (1,350 gold); whether that perk still exists was not checked.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
