Found in Kasha's Bag in the Heroic dungeon Zul'Aman, for freeing all four prisoners of the Amani before the timer runs out. One prisoner is caged beside each of the four animal bosses (Akil'zon, Nalorakk, Jan'alai and Halazzi): kill the boss, open the cage. The clock starts when the gate opens, at 15 minutes, and killing Akil'zon and Nalorakk adds 5 minutes each. The last prisoner freed uncovers the bag, and the mount is in it every time.
Inside Zul'Aman, a dungeon (Heroic)
Time there about 12 min a visit
Before you go
- The Ghostlands as they were in the Burning Crusade, where the dungeon's door stands: since Midnight the land is healed and part of Eversong Woods, and Zidormi in the Thalassian Pass (Eastern Plaguelands 53.8, 8.8) turns the time back · about 0.1 h
In all: about 0.1 h of play, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Ghostlands 82.6 64.3 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Silvermoon*
- Fly to the Thalassian Pass portal to Ghostlands
- Take the Thalassian Pass portal to Ghostlands
- Ride the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Silvermoon (Burning Crusade)*
- Fly to Exit to Ghostlands
- Ride the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Still earned in Midnight: a 2026 Wowhead comment puts the bag at 60, 17 on the dungeon's map after the boss dies.
How the door is reached since Midnight was not found written down anywhere. The wiki's Ghostlands page (edited 2026) says the land is 'once again considered part of Eversong Woods', and its Zidormi page has her in the Thalassian Pass offering 'what the Eversong Woods and Ghostlands were like during the age of the Burning Crusade'. The game's table puts the entrance at Ghostlands 82.6, 64.3 (a Wowhead comment: 82.05, 64.05; wow.gg: 80.9, 64.9), so the route through Zidormi is an inference. The road from the Eastern Plaguelands comes in at 54.2, 9.0 (a comment). The old Ghostlands had no flying (wiki; a 2024 comment), taken here as still true.
Steps from the comments (2016-2024):
- set the dungeon difficulty to Heroic before going in (the only mode; a reply quotes a game master that other settings stop the door working)
- inside, take the quest The Captive Scouts from the trolls beside Vol'jin
- tell him you are ready and click the gong once
- the bosses can be ridden to
Which boss is last is disputed. Older comments and wow.gg say Halazzi must be last, so that Kasha is the one freed last and breaks the urns that hide the bag (in the third); replies of 2016 and 2022 found the mount with whichever prisoner was freed last. A bag left behind is sent on by the Postmaster (replies of 2022, a 2024 comment).
The timer:
- wow.gg (updated 2026) says it starts at 15 minutes with 5 more each for Akil'zon and Nalorakk and none for Jan'alai, though one line of it says 'the timer is 25 minutes'
- a 2024 comment also has it start at 15
- a 2016 comment says 20 minutes for all four
The wiki has no figures for this version of the dungeon.
In a party the wiki says 'there is only one mount in the bag, so party members must roll for it'; a 2021 reply has both of two players getting one; not settled. Heroic dungeons are saved once a day (a 2024 comment).
Wowhead lists the dungeon at level 35; the item asks for level 32 and binds when picked up (wiki). The first rescue of all four also gives the achievement Bear-ly Made It (wow.gg). Not to be confused with the Amani War Bear of the original raid, long gone. wow.gg's travel directions predate Midnight, and no Wowhead guide for the current game was found (its guides to the timed run are for Burning Crusade Classic and a news post of 2011).
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
