Rare drop from Alysrazor, the fire hawk boss of the Firelands raid, on Normal and on Heroic difficulty. She is out in the open and can be walked to straight from the entrance, before any other boss.
Chance 2.07% once a week, so about 48 tries on average — Wowhead: 2,643 in 127,445 recorded loots of Alysrazor (read 2026-10-11), per looting player and pooled over every difficulty, raid size and year. By mode: 10-player Normal 741 in 32,801 (2.26%), 25-player Normal 616 in 19,846 (3.10%), 10-player Heroic 168 in 10,340 (1.62%), 25-player Heroic 950 in 53,292 (1.78%), and Wowhead's size-less Normal and Heroic modes 53 in 3,017 (1.76%) and 115 in 7,364 (1.56%). Notes and sources
About 48 kills expected at 2.07%; commenters report it on the 2nd, 22nd and 65th kill, and others none in 84 or in hundreds. A 2025 Wowhead reply says to leave after the kill, change the raid to the other difficulty and kill her again, so one try on Heroic and one on Normal each week for each character. The same is said of Ragnaros's chest (see the Pureblood Fire Hawk); the game's own lockout rules were not read.
The way in, from a 2025 comment: walk straight to Alysrazor and clear the creatures around her. Anyone also after Ragnaros's Pureblood Fire Hawk lets her drop feathers first and picks up three to gain flight, kills her, then flies over the gap where the bridge would rise. A 2025 comment says a character below level 40 does not survive in the raid. The entrance is from the game's own table. The time on the spot is an estimate for one kill.
Also seen, only while Cataclysm Timewalking runs: Wowhead lists the mount in the Cache of Timewarped Treasures, the reward of that event's weekly quest, at 31 in 10,585 caches (0.29%), and comments of 2023 and 2025 report it from there. The Rarity addon does not count attempts in Firelands (comments of 2025; its Discord says tracking does not work in Timewalking raids).
