How to get it

Sold by Astrid Langstrump outside the Howling Oak in Darnassus for 1 gold. Worgen buy it outright; every other Alliance race has to be Exalted with Gilneas first. Darnassus only exists in the past: speak with Zidormi in Darkshore to see Teldrassil before it burned.

Time there about 2 min a visit

Before you go

Teldrassil switched to the past: speak with Zidormi in Darkshore (48.4, 25.0), then go up to Darnassus · about 0.2 h
Exalted with Gilneas (worgen skip this): wear the Gilneas Tabard from Lord Candren in dungeons, or do the Gilneas quests of Duskwood, Felwood, Stonetalon Mountains and the Blasted Lands · about 2 h
1 gold

In all: about 2.2 h of play, 1 gold, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Same vendor and same conditions as the Swift Mountain Horse, which costs 10 gold. The item needs level 10 (wiki).

Wowhead's tooltip for Astrid Langstrump (2026) places her only in Darnassus, at five points between 48.2 and 48.6, 21.4 and 22.6; the wiki's Gilneas page gives 48.6, 22.2. Wowhead's comments on her page, as read for the Swift Mountain Horse, have players of 2024 reaching her through Zidormi; that page was not opened again for this mount.

The wiki's page for the mount still says she sells it in Darnassus or Stormwind City. Its page for her has her added to Stormwind in patch 8.0.1 and gone from there since patch 10.2.0 ('No longer present in Stormwind City'), and guesses, without a source, that she went back to Gilneas.

Where the tabard is sold is not settled: the wiki's Gilneas page puts Lord Candren in the Temple Gardens of Darnassus (37.0, 47.8), while the wiki's page for him, as read for the Swift Mountain Horse, says he moved to Greymane Court in Gilneas City in patch 12.0.0.

Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
