Look it up on WowheadHow to get it
Sold by Astrid Langstrump outside the Howling Oak in Darnassus for 10 gold. Worgen buy it outright; every other Alliance race has to be Exalted with Gilneas first. Darnassus only exists in the past: speak with Zidormi in Darkshore to see Teldrassil before it burned.
Time there about 2 min a visit
Before you go
- Teldrassil switched to the past: speak with Zidormi on the Darkshore coast (48.9, 24.5), then fly up to Darnassus · about 0.2 h
- Exalted with Gilneas (worgen skip this): wear the Gilneas Tabard from Lord Candren and clear dungeons · about 2 h
- 10 gold
In all: about 2.2 h of play, 10 gold, starting from nothing.
Getting there
/way Darnassus 48.6 22.2 - Take the portal from Stormwind to Darnassus*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
Astrid Langstrump is reached through Zidormi in Darkshore (49, 25), then by flying up to Darnassus (Wowhead comments of 2024, which also say she is no longer in Stormwind). Her coordinates are 48.6, 22.2 on the wiki and 48.2, 21.4 on wow.gg, both among Wowhead's five recorded points in Darnassus (48.2 to 48.6, 21.4 to 22.6).
The wiki says she also stood by the Stormwind Embassy from patch 8.0.1 and was taken out of Stormwind in 10.2.0, which leaves only the Darnassus spot; she is not on the wiki's current Embassy list. Wowhead's page for her (2026) bears this out: its map still carries old Stormwind City sightings (around 52.4, 8.2) beside the Darnassus ones.
Lord Candren, the Gilneas quartermaster who sells the tabard, moved to Greymane Court in Gilneas City in patch 12.0.0 (wiki). Nothing shows that she moved with him: Wowhead has no sighting of her in Gilneas City, and a 2026 comment still speaks of trying to buy from her without saying where.
Wowhead's tooltip gives the price as 10 gold; its sold-by list shows 8 gold, which matches 10 gold less the 20% Exalted discount. Needs level 17 and Apprentice Riding (wiki).
Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
