How to get it

Reward of the achievement Glory of the Dragon Soul Raider: thirteen achievements in the Dragon Soul raid. Six are the kills on Heroic difficulty of its first six bosses (Morchok, Warlord Zon'ozz, Yor'sahj the Unsleeping, Hagara the Stormbinder, Ultraxion, Warmaster Blackhorn); seven are special achievements on Normal or Heroic, one on each of seven encounters. The last of them, Chromatic Champion, takes four kills of the Madness of Deathwing, each begun on a different Aspect's platform, so four visits in four different weeks. The reward item is the Reins of the Twilight Harbinger.

Inside Dragon Soul, a raid (Heroic)

Time there about 45 min a visit

Before you go

  • Four clears of Dragon Soul in four different weeks: Chromatic Champion asks for a kill of the Madness of Deathwing begun on each of the four platforms (Ysera's, Nozdormu's, Kalecgos's, Alexstrasza's), and he can be killed once a week. The other twelve achievements fit into the first visit · about 3 h over 3 weeks

In all: about 3 h of play, spread over 3 weeks, starting from nothing.

Getting there

From Stormwind (Alliance) about 1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Caverns of Time*
  2. Fly the rest of the way
From Orgrimmar (Horde) about 1 min of travel
  1. Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Caverns of Time*
  2. Fly the rest of the way

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Wowhead's tooltip for the achievement (2026) lists the thirteen criteria and marks progress as account-wide. The seven special achievements, in the game's wording (wiki, Wowhead's guide):

  • Don't Stand So Close to Me (Morchok): no two players, three on 25-player, within 5 yards of each other while he channels Black Blood of the Earth
  • Ping Pong Champion (Warlord Zon'ozz): bounce the Void of the Unmaking 10 times off players, then defeat him
  • Taste the Rainbow! (Yor'sahj): experience Black and Yellow, Black and Blue, Red and Green, and Purple and Yellow, then defeat him
  • Minutes to Midnight (Ultraxion): no raid member hit by Hour of Twilight more than once
  • Deck Defender (Warmaster Blackhorn): no Twilight Barrage damages the Skyfire
  • Maybe He'll Get Dizzy... (Spine of Deathwing): make him roll Left, Right, Left, Right, then win
  • Chromatic Champion

How each is done, from a 2018 Wowhead comment and wow.gg (2026):

  • set the raid to Heroic for the first six bosses
  • Zon'ozz: stand in the orb's path again and again until it has bounced ten times, without killing him first
  • Yor'sahj: wait through four or five waves of oozes until every pair has been up
  • Blackhorn: stand in each Barrage's circle and kill the drakes fast
  • the Spine: stand at one side until he rolls, then the other, four times, before finishing the fight
  • the Madness: speak to Thrall and be standing on the wanted platform when Deathwing arrives (Ysera's is where the fight starts, Alexstrasza's is two jumps away)

The meta has shrunk twice (wiki): patch 5.0.4 dropped the Heroic kills of the Spine and the Madness, and a hotfix of 11 January 2016 dropped Holding Hands, which had asked for a chain of players.

Medium confidence, for two reasons. First, the four weeks given rest on players' accounts, which also say the four platforms have to be done on the same character (comments of 2018 and 2021). Wowhead's tooltip for Chromatic Champion itself carries no account-wide mark, unlike the meta's, which fits that; whether kills by several characters in one week add up was not tested by any source found.

Second, a 2021 comment advises at least two players for Ping Pong Champion, passing the orb between them, while the 2018 comment and wow.gg describe one player running into the orb. Nothing found says the game refuses one player, so no second player is asked for here.

Wowhead's guide is a player's guide from 2012 (last edited 2018) written for a full raid of the time: it still lists Holding Hands and the two dropped Heroic kills. wow.gg's guide (updated 2026) is current but misnames two achievements: 'Rainbow Generation' for Chromatic Champion, and 'Maybe He'll Get Seasick'.

The entrance coordinates are from the game's own table of instance entrances, a spot inside the caverns; wow.gg gives the cave mouth, 64.8, 49.9. The time there is an estimate for one clear with the achievements.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
