Crafted by a jewelcrafter with Pandaria Jewelcrafting at 75 from Design: Sunstone Panther, which San Redscale at the Arboretum in the Jade Forest sells for 200 gold at Honored with the Order of the Cloud Serpent. It takes 1 Orb of Mystery, 4 Living Steel, 20 Sun's Radiance and 2 Serpent's Eye. The orb is sold by Big Keech in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms for 20,000 gold.

Notes and sources

A crafted mount with three errands: the design from San Redscale (the place given), the orb from Big Keech, and the materials. The opening quests alone reach Honored; an earlier version of this guide counted three days of daily quests and Onyx Eggs for it.

Big Keech is only in the old version of the Vale. Wowhead comments from 2025 to 2026 put him in front of the Siege of Orgrimmar entrance, and Wowhead's tooltip has him pacing between about 60, 43 and 71, 46. The comments place Zidormi at about 80, 31, at the top of the building that holds the entrance to Lorewalker Cho. One 2026 comment could not find him there and was answered by two later ones that did.

Forum posts say Zidormi only shows in the Vale for a character that has done the Battle for Azeroth story that changed the zone; not checked. Wowhead's page for Big Keech opens as its Mists of Pandaria Classic version; the comments used are from 2025-2026 and speak of The War Within and Midnight.

Players of 2012-2014 paid 18,000 for the orb with discounts that may no longer exist. The orb is not soulbound (a 2013 comment), and the Living Steel and the gems can be made on other characters and passed to the jeweler.

Wowhead's tooltip for the finished mount shows no binding line, so the item itself can be handed or sold on; the route here is making it. The wiki lists the Sunstone Panther as a reagent of the Jeweled Onyx Panther, so a collector who wants both makes two.

The Order of the Cloud Serpent's Grand Commendation doubles the reputation for the whole account; wow.gg says San Redscale sells it at Honored, the wiki at Revered. Whether the reputation is shared across the Warband was not established. Wowhead's guide still asks for level 90, from before level scaling; the wiki shows the quests from level 10.

The design asked for Jewelcrafting 600 until patch 8.0.1 split the profession by expansion.
