Sold by Jaluu the Generous, the Golden Lotus quartermaster, for 500 gold to characters Exalted with the Golden Lotus. He stands on the lower, outdoor level of each faction's shrine in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms: the Shrine of Seven Stars for the Alliance, the Shrine of Two Moons for the Horde.

Before you go
- Exalted with the Golden Lotus (42,000 reputation from Neutral). Since patch 5.4 it comes from kills in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms as it was before the Black Empire's assault; Zidormi (80.6, 32.0) turns the zone back to that time. The usual spot is the Golden Stair (44.3, 21.8), where Granite Quilen pour down from the gate without pause at 10 reputation a kill; the Vale's rares give 200. From Revered, Jaluu's Grand Commendation of the Golden Lotus doubles every gain · about 1.5 h
- 500 gold
In all: about 1.5 h of play, 500 gold, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources
Jaluu the Generous moved to both shrines in patch 5.4 (wiki). The coordinates given are Wowhead's tooltip positions for him (63.0, 22.2 and 84.2, 62.4 to 62.6); the wiki has 63.2, 22.1 at the Shrine of Two Moons and 84.2, 62.8 at the Shrine of Seven Stars, and Wowhead comments place him on the Golden Terrace under the Horde's shrine and on the Summer Terrace of the Alliance's.
Whether he stands there in both versions of the Vale was not established. wow.gg's page for the Regal Riding Crane says he remains at the shrines in the present-day Vale, while another wow.gg crane page, as a web search quoted it, says to speak to Zidormi when the Golden Lotus vendors are not to be seen. Zidormi's position is Wowhead's tooltip (80.4 to 80.6, 32.0).
The price given is the journal's list price, 500 gold, which the journal, Wowhead and the wiki all show. A Wowhead comment under the Regal Riding Crane says the faction discount at Exalted brings its 1,500 gold down to 1,200; by the same discount this one would come to 400, and since Exalted is required that would be the price actually paid. Jaluu sells three cranes at Exalted: Azure (500 gold), Regal (1,500) and Golden (2,500).
How the reputation is earned today is taken from players' comments on Wowhead's faction page, not from a guide: the wiki only says that patch 5.4 ended the old daily rounds, that the dailies left were moved to the Setting Sun Garrison and that reputation can still be gained. A 2023 comment says kills are now the only source; whether the Setting Sun Garrison dailies (300 reputation each by a comment from the 5.4 test realm) can still be taken was not established.
Other ways named in the comments: the mogu of the Guo-Lai Halls and the Ancient Guo-Lai Caches their keys open, whose relics give reputation (a 2025 comment calls the halls the fastest farm at 160 reputation a kill; one player's figure, not confirmed), and the Stolen Golden Lotus Insignia (1,000 reputation) from the rare War-God Dokah. Comments of 2024 are about the Remix event and do not apply. The Grand Commendation costs about 30 gold by a 2021 comment and 50 by wow.gg, and doubles the gains of every character on the account.
wow.gg's pages for the crane mounts (updated 2026) describe daily rounds from the Golden Pagoda, which the wiki says were removed in patch 5.4, and the one for this mount gives two to three weeks for the reputation; they are not linked as guides. No reputation guide by Wowhead for the present-day game was found.
Wowhead's page for the faction jumps to its Mists of Pandaria Classic database in a browser; the comments used are the retail ones. Wowhead's own page for this mount's item was not opened: its tooltip was already in hand, and the vendor is the Regal Riding Crane's.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
