Before you go
- Exalted with the Golden Lotus (42,000 reputation from Neutral). Since patch 5.4 it comes from kills in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms as it was before the Black Empire's assault; Zidormi (80.6, 32.0) turns the zone back to that time. The usual spot is the Golden Stair (44.3, 21.8), where Granite Quilen pour down from the gate without pause at 10 reputation a kill; the Vale's rares give 200. From Revered, Jaluu's Grand Commendation of the Golden Lotus doubles every gain · about 1.5 h
- 2,500 gold
In all: about 1.5 h of play, 2,500 gold, starting from nothing.

Notes and sources
Jaluu the Generous moved to both shrines in patch 5.4 (wiki; Wowhead's guide says he now stands on the ground floor of each faction's capital in the Vale). The coordinates given are Wowhead's tooltip positions for him (63.0, 22.2 and 84.2, 62.4 to 62.6), as read for the Azure and Regal Riding Cranes and not asked for again; the wiki has 63.2, 22.1 at the Shrine of Two Moons and 84.2, 62.8 at the Shrine of Seven Stars. The terrace names in those cranes' notes are from Wowhead comments.
Whether he stands there in both versions of the Vale was not established. wow.gg's page for this mount (updated 2026) says to speak to Zidormi at the entrance to Mogu'shan Palace (about 80.6, 32.0) if the zone shows the damage of N'Zoth's invasion and the Golden Lotus vendors and quest givers are missing.
The price given is the list price: Wowhead's sold-by list for the reins (2026) has Jaluu at 2,500 gold, and so do Wowhead's guide and the wiki. Since Exalted is required, the faction discount applies to what is actually paid. Two Wowhead comments on this item (2013 and 2014) say 1,750 gold at Exalted, which is 30% off and probably counts a guild perk of that time; the comment quoted for the Regal Riding Crane has 1,200 for the 1,500 crane, 20% off, by which this one would come to 2,000. The guide keeps the 2,500.
Wowhead's guide is the one linked from this item's page. It was written for patch 5.4 and last touched in 2018, so it says nothing of Zidormi and the two versions of the Vale, but the Vale it describes is the one Zidormi turns the zone back to. From it:
- killing creatures in the Vale gives the reputation from Neutral to Exalted, stronger ones more
- the only daily quests left are the few achievement ones at the Setting Sun Garrison
- the Ancient Guo-Lai Caches in the Hall of Tiles hold two account-bound tokens, the Relic of the Thunder King and the Relic of Guo-Lai, worth 500 and 250 reputation; their keys are a rare drop from the Vale's mogu
- the Stolen Golden Lotus Insignia from War-God Dokah and the Zandalari Warbringers and Warscouts gives 1,000
- the Tillers' Work Order: Golden Lotus II at Sunsong Ranch gives 400
- the Grand Commendation costs 50 gold at Revered
The guide also says that to begin questing with the Golden Lotus a character must first pass the trials at the Temple of the White Tiger in Kun-Lai Summit (the quests Temple of the White Tiger, A Celestial Experience and A Witness to History), that the Vale can be flown into without them and that many areas are then phased. Whether kills count for a character that has not done them was not established.
wow.gg's page describes daily rounds from the Golden Pagoda and other hubs, 1,000 to 2,000 reputation a day and two to three weeks to Exalted, which is the game before patch 5.4 by the wiki and by Wowhead's guide, and relics worth 250 each; it is not linked as a guide.
Jaluu sells three cranes at Exalted: Azure (500 gold), Regal (1,500) and Golden (2,500). The item binds when picked up, and its comments on Wowhead have nothing newer than 2017. Wowhead's faction page jumps to the Mists of Pandaria Classic database in a browser; the figures here are from this item's retail page and the guide.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
