Guide wow.gg: Thundering August Cloud Serpent

• Exalted with The August Celestials: 42,000 reputation from Neutral. Each day the quartermaster's starter quest sends the character to one of four temples (Temple of the White Tiger, Temple of the Jade Serpent, Cradle of Chi-Ji, Niuzao Temple) for that day's four or so daily quests, about 1,100 to 1,250 reputation a day. At Revered the Grand Commendation of the August Celestials, 50 gold from the same quartermaster, doubles it for every character of the account. Stolen Celestial Insignias, a drop from the Zandalari Warscouts and Warbringers on Pandaria's coasts, give 1,000 each · about 4 h over 4 weeks
• 10,000 gold

In all: about 4 h of play, spread over 4 weeks, 10,000 gold, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

The two quartermasters, Sage Whiteheart and Sage Lotusbloom, sell it. The coordinates are the wiki's (84.8, 63.5 and 62.8, 23.5); wow.gg has 84.6, 63.6 and 62.6, 23.2. The vendors, price and standing agree across the journal, Wowhead's tooltip, the wiki and wow.gg. A flying mount.

10,000 gold is the list price: Wowhead comments of 2014 and 2015 report about 7,000 and 8,000 gold at Exalted, the reputation discount. Wowhead's sold-by list for the reins (2026) prices Sage Whiteheart's at 10,000 gold and shows 10 gold for Sage Lotusbloom's, which is taken as an error in its data.

The time to Exalted is the weak figure and is wow.gg's alone; the wiki gives no reputation per quest, and nothing was measured. wow.gg adds that work orders at the Halfhill farm, once it is levelled, give another 400 reputation a day.

The insignia: the notes for the Blue Shado-Pan Riding Tiger have the Stolen Shado-Pan Insignia at 6,000 since patch 10.2.7, and say the Zandalari drop insignias for four factions, so only some are the right one. The Celestial one reads 1,000 in both Wowhead's tooltip and the wiki; it binds to the Warband, so any character can gather it.

What unlocks the dailies today is not settled:

• the wiki's faction page has them at level 90, as in Mists of Pandaria, and says patch 5.3.0 removed the Golden Lotus prerequisite
• its pages for the two quartermasters still say they offer dailies only at Revered with the Golden Lotus
• wow.gg (2026) asks only for access to the Vale and the quartermaster's starter quest

The Vale has shown its restored, present-day state since patch 8.3, and Zidormi at the Seat of Knowledge (81.0, 29.6) turns it back to before N'Zoth's assaults (wiki). Whether the quartermasters and their quests are there in both states was not established, and nothing found says they are not.

The reins ask for level 35 and Apprentice Riding since patches 9.0.1 and 9.0.2, and Cloud Serpent Riding has not been needed to use the mount since patch 6.0.2 (wiki; a 2020 Wowhead comment says the same). The item binds when picked up. No guide of Wowhead's own to this reputation turned up in a web search, and Icy Veins' is of 2013.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
