Jade Pandaren Kite

Reward of the achievement We're Going to Need More Saddles: obtain 150 mounts usable by a single character. The count is account-wide; the achievement gives the item Jade Pandaren Kite String, which teaches the mount.

• 150 mounts in the collection that one character can use (mounts of the other faction or of other classes do not count for that character)

There is nowhere to travel for this one.

There is nowhere to go for this mount, so no place is given: it comes with the 150th countable mount. The achievement exists once for each faction (Wowhead achievements 7860, marked Alliance only, and 7862), both with the same text, 'Obtain 150 mounts (usable by a single character)', account-wide progress and the same reward, the Jade Pandaren Kite String.

That mounts of the other faction or of another class are left out is how the words 'usable by a single character' are read here and for the later steps of the series (the Felfire Hawk at 250, the Heavenly Azure Cloud Serpent at 300); the tooltip does not spell it out. In the mount-count series it stands between Mountain o' Mounts (100) and Mount Parade (200) (wiki).

It was added in patch 5.1.0 and moved out of the General category in patch 6.0.2 (wiki), which is why the journal still files it under General. The item binds when picked up (Wowhead tooltip). How the item is delivered (in the mail or straight into the bags) was not found. Wowhead's page for the mount was not read.

Confidence in this entry: high. Looked up in 2026.
