Rare drop from Oondasta, the devilsaur world boss on the Isle of Giants, north of Kun-Lai Summit.
Chance 0.39% once a week, so about 256 tries on average — Wowhead: 149 mounts in 38,360 recorded loots of Oondasta (0.39%, read 2026-10-10). The count is pooled over all years and Wowhead does not date it; a Blizzard hotfix of 16 November 2022 'greatly increased' the drop chance without giving a figure, so today's chance is probably higher. Players since then guess 0.8-1% (Wowhead comments), and the Rarity addon uses 1 in 100

Notes and sources
There is one chance per character each week. About 256 kills are expected at Wowhead's 0.39%, about 100 at the 1% players assume since the 2022 increase. Wowhead commenters since then report the mount at 35, 42, 60 and 67 kills, and one reports 410 kills without it (2025).
Oondasta respawns every 15 minutes (wiki, since a 2016 hotfix), so a visit can include that wait; the time on the spot is an estimate. A Mogu Rune of Fate gives a bonus roll with another chance at the mount (wiki; two commenters got it that way). The wiki names no requirement for reaching the island.
During WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria in 2024 the mount was also sold for 38,500 Bronze; that ended with the event.
