Rare drop from the Zandalari Warbringer that rides an amber direhorn. Warbringers are rare elites that appear at five fixed points in Pandaria, one each in Townlong Steppes, Dread Wastes, Kun-Lai Summit, The Jade Forest and Krasarang Wilds. Each rides a slate, amber or jade direhorn and can only drop the mount of its own colour. The amber one never appears at the Krasarang Wilds point, so the other four are the ones to check; which colour turns up at them is not fixed.
Chance 4.83% per try, so about 21 tries on average — Wowhead: 2,652 mounts in 54,875 recorded loots of the amber-riding Warbringer (NPC 69841), read 2026-10-10 from the retail item page; the count is pooled over all years and all spawn points. It is the chance for a kill of the amber one: at every point the Warbringer may ride a slate or jade direhorn instead, which cannot drop this mount. The wiki says about 5%, and the Rarity addon's data has 1 in 20

Getting there
/way Townlong Steppes 36.5 85.5 - Take the portal from Wizard's Sanctum to Jade Forest*
- Fly the rest of the way
- Take the portal from Pathfinder's Den to Jade Forest*
- Fly the rest of the way
/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.
Notes and sources
The three Warbringers share a name; Wowhead keeps them apart as NPC 69769 (slate), 69841 (amber) and 69842 (jade). The place given above is the point Wowhead's tooltip shows for the amber one: Townlong Steppes 36.4-36.6, 85.4-85.6 (the wiki has 36.5, 85.8). The other three where it can appear, from a 2024 Wowhead comment:
- Dread Wastes 47.25, 61.55
- Kun-Lai Summit 75.04, 67.03
- The Jade Forest 52.56, 18.90
The Krasarang Wilds point (38.96, 67.66) only ever has the slate one (wiki; a 2021 Wowhead comment). The journal lists Valley of the Four Winds and not The Jade Forest; nothing read gives a point in Valley of the Four Winds, while the wiki, Wowhead's data for the NPC and the commenters give the Jade Forest one.
About 21 kills of the amber Warbringer are expected at 4.83%. How often the amber one is the colour that appears was not established; if the three are equally likely at the four points, that is about one Warbringer in three (an assumption; a 2017 commenter says the same).
No daily or weekly limit was found: a 2024 Wowhead comment describes circling all five points for eight hours and getting all three mounts in a day, and a 2021 one counts 110 amber kills for 6 reins, but no source states the rule outright.
The respawn time is not settled: the comment that circled the points found a steady 20 minutes at each point, a 2023 one at least 30 minutes. The time on the spot is an estimate of the average wait at one point plus the kill, the same figure as for the Slate Primordial Direhorn.
Wowhead's loot table also shows the Zandalari Warscout with 15 mounts in 298,824 loots, which is too thin to plan on. Class trial characters cannot loot Warbringers (comments of 2020).
Wowhead still lists the Remix: Mists of Pandaria vendor that sold the mount for 18,700 Bronze; that ended with the event in 2024. The figures used here are from Wowhead's page for the live game; its Mists of Pandaria Classic page has 58 in 1,538.
Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
