How to get it

Rare drop from Ji-Kun, the sixth boss of the Throne of Thunder, on Normal or Heroic in either raid size. Raid Finder does not drop it. Jin'rokh the Breaker, Horridon, the Council of Elders, Tortos and Megaera come before her. The raid is on the Isle of Thunder, reached through the portal at the faction's camp beside the Shado-Pan Garrison in Townlong Steppes (Alliance 49.7, 68.7; Horde 50.6, 73.4).

Chance 2.31% once a week, so about 43 tries on average — Wowhead: 2,166 mounts in 93,701 recorded loots of Ji-Kun (2.31%, also the tooltip's figure), pooled over four modes: 10-player Normal 215 in 19,857 (1.08%), 25-player Normal 646 in 14,563 (4.44%), 10-player Heroic 94 in 14,987 (0.63%) and 25-player Heroic 1,211 in 36,146 (3.35%), taking Wowhead's mode numbers 3 to 6 as the game's difficulty ids. No Raid Finder loots are listed

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

There is one chance per character each week. About 43 kills are expected at the pooled 2.31%.

The spread between raid sizes (about 4% in 25-player, about 1% in 10-player) is Wowhead's recorded data, not a published rate: the counts are per looting player and many date from when the raid was current, so they may say more about how loot was shared then than about today's chance. Players in the comments assume Heroic or 25-player is better, and nothing confirms it. These are the figures of Wowhead's page for the live game; its Mists of Pandaria Classic page has 47 in 3,120.

It does not drop in Raid Finder: comments of 2013, 2014 and 2021 say so, and Wowhead's counts have no Raid Finder mode. Whether the two sizes and the two difficulties share one weekly lockout was not established.

The isle is its own map and allows ground mounts only (wiki). By the wiki the way to the entrance runs through the sewer grate at Bleak Hollow (51, 47), which teleports into the inner courtyard. The 30 minutes for six bosses is an estimate.

From the comments: jumping down on the left at the start of the bridge after the Council of Elders avoids the cutscene (2023), and Megaera only comes once the three Eternal Guardians are defeated and the bell behind each is destroyed (2025).

Hemet Nesingwary XVII, whom Wowhead still lists as selling it, was a vendor of the Pandaria Remix event, which is over.

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
