How to get it

Rare drop from Garrosh Hellscream, the fourteenth and last boss of the Siege of Orgrimmar, on Mythic difficulty only. Once any character of the account has defeated him, the Scroll of Past Deeds just inside the entrance, beside Lorewalker Cho, takes a character straight to his room; before that the thirteen bosses ahead of him have to be cleared. Each character has one try a week.

Chance 1% once a week, so about 100 tries on average — Unofficial: about 1% is what players have reported since the drop stopped being guaranteed (Wowhead comments of 2017, 2018 and 2022); Blizzard never published a figure. Wowhead's own counts are not taken as today's chance. Its page (read 2026-10-11) records 856 mounts in 37,132 Mythic loots of Garrosh Hellscream (2.31%), and its tooltip shows 0.89%, the same 856 over the 95,768 loots of every difficulty, though only Mythic can drop it. The Mythic count still holds the time the mount always dropped (from patch 5.4 until, by a comment of October 2014, 13 November 2014): commenters saw the page's figure at about 24% in May 2017, 6.4% in August 2018 and about 3% in 2022, falling as later kills thin it out

Inside Siege of Orgrimmar, a raid (Mythic)

Time there about 10 min a visit

Before you go

  • Garrosh Hellscream defeated once on the account, which opens the Scroll of Past Deeds for every character: one clear of all fourteen bosses. Without it every weekly try is the whole raid · about 1.5 h

In all: about 1.5 h of play, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight line and 30 seconds for a portal. A star marks a portal that needs a quest or other unlock done first.

Notes and sources

Mythic only (wiki; Wowhead's drop list has no other difficulty; the journal does not say): the raid difficulty has to be set to Mythic before entering, which a 2023 commenter forgot on several characters. The lock is the Mythic raid's weekly one, per character.

The skip was added in patch 10.1.5 (July 2023). The scroll stands just to the right inside the entrance, next to Lorewalker Cho, and puts the character behind the door of Garrosh's room, from where the way back is shut at the Paragons' door (a 2023 Wowhead comment, +23). Players report the mount dropping after using it on Mythic (comments of 2023). The disconnection it caused at first was fixed by October 2023 (comments).

The time on the spot is an estimate for a visit with the scroll; without it the visit is a clear of all fourteen bosses, put at an hour and a half. The entrance is the first of two points in the game's own table (the other is 74.7, 39.3); the wiki has 74, 42, at the bottom of what was the central lake of the Vale, under water in the Vale's Battle for Azeroth version.

The chance is the weak figure: the true rate is somewhere at or under Wowhead's 2.31% and 1% is the players' guess, so about 100 kills are to be expected. Tallies in Wowhead's comments: the mount after 20, 25, 43, 50, 55, 102, 290, about 510 and 1,362 kills. A game master's reply quoted in a 2016 comment says the mount can drop with Personal Loot and more than one can drop in a raid. The figures are from Wowhead's page for the live game.

History: added in patch 5.4.0 as a certain drop; the wiki has 'No longer a guaranteed drop' under patch 6.0.2 (October 2014), and a comment of that month says it stayed certain on Mythic until 13 November 2014.

The wiki also names two other sources that are not routes here: the Black Market Auction House, and the Pandaria Remix vendor Hemet Nesingwary XVII at 38,500 Bronze, an event of 2024 that is over; Wowhead's sold-by list still shows that vendor.

A ground mount; the item binds when picked up, is unique and asks for level 35 (wiki).

Confidence in this entry: medium. Looked up in 2026.
