Sold by Milli Featherwhistle, the mechanostrider merchant at Steelgrill's Depot outside Kharanos in Dun Morogh, for 1 gold. A gnome buys it outright; any other Alliance race has to be Exalted with Gnomeregan first.

Before you go
- Exalted with Gnomeregan, unless the buyer is a gnome: the Gnomeregan Tabard from Master Tinker Trini at the Great Forge in Ironforge, worn in dungeons, turns their reputation into Gnomeregan's; quests in Dun Morogh, Stonetalon Mountains, Thousand Needles, Tanaris and the Blasted Lands and the Argent Tournament count too · about 3.5 h
- 1 gold
In all: about 3.5 h of play, 1 gold, starting from nothing.

/way is for the TomTom addon. Travel times are estimates: flying at 55 yards a second in a straight
line and 30 seconds for a portal.
Notes and sources
The vendor sells the Blue, Red and Unpainted Mechanostriders at the same price and three swift ones at 10 gold. Wowhead's tooltip for her and the wiki give the same coordinates. The item asks for level 10 (wiki, since patch 9.0.1).
The journal leaves out the reputation. The wiki's page for the vendor says only gnomes can buy from Milli by default and other characters must be Exalted with Gnomeregan, and her gossip to anyone else is that she can only sell to those 'considered exalted amongst the gnomes'. That was not confirmed in the game, and whether a mechagnome counts as a gnome here was not established (neither wiki page mentions mechagnomes). The mount is account-wide once learned, so any gnome on the account can buy it for 1 gold and skip the reputation.
Where a non-gnome starts with Gnomeregan was not found, so the hours may overstate it. The tabard is also sold by Rillie Spindlenut at the Argent Tournament Grounds (wiki).
The wiki notes a second, unused 'Green Mechanostrider' in the game's data with a different look; the one meant here is the one the vendor sells (item 13321).
Guide: Wowhead's is a user-submitted list (updated 2024) of every racial mount with its vendor and the rule that they are bought 'by being Exalted with their respective faction, or by being the race it's part of'; it names this mount and this vendor but does not say how the reputation is earned.
